@UK_Daniel_Card @Oddvarmoe Triggering a admin elevation (uac) from the command line rather than running powershell/cmd as admin from get go. It's under the developer options in settings

sudo for Windows was not on my bingo card. Apparently this has been in the works for a while. Must have missed it github.com/microsoft/sudo

@techienickb @BleepinComputer Wouldn’t it be classic if the dev never got the email because it was send during yet another Exchange Online service degradation?

Native multi-tenant configuration drift management is now built directly into Microsoft Entra, take a read > ourcloudnetwork.com/use-entra-tena… ❤️ With the recent release of UTCM, the engine behind the snapshots, baselines, monitors and drifts, Tenant Governance adds a framework that enables you to apply the UTCM engine, as well as management permissions across multiple Microsoft Entra tenants! Another game changer for Entra!

@techienickb Thanks for flagging, Nick! We had a look, and weren't able to repro the issue on our end across different devices/tenants. Could you DM us with more info including your tenantID(s), and an F12 network trace, so we can take a closer look? Thanks! ^MS

Dunno if this is just us but, try and complete an @azuread access review and it doesn't load. Looks like API it calls to load is returning a 404. @merill

So, uhh, "winget install node" might not do what you think 😬 Someone pointed this out to me thinking it might be a name squatting type attack, lol. Doesn't look like it is on the surface, but be careful out there ;)

@schenardie Can't seem to get it to generate a diagram, tried with a subset of apps in our tenant. Might be good to have some sort of loading indicator

Yes, the Microsoft Teams update for automatic Wi-Fi-based location setting is confirmed via official sources—it's opt-in for admins, off by default for users, but companies can enforce it (starting March 2026 per Microsoft Roadmap). Under German law (GDPR & BDSG §26), employer location tracking must be proportionate, transparent, and justified (e.g., for safety). Constant tracking without need or consent could violate privacy rights; employees can object. For work PC monitoring: Legal if informed in advance, for legit purposes like security, but not for private use if allowed—hidden surveillance requires suspicion of wrongdoing. Consult a lawyer for specifics.

Microsoft's new Teams update automatically shares your location with your employer. Don't worry — it's "off by default." Your company turns it on. You can't turn it off. That's what "opt-in" means now.

@gothburz more context: 1. IT needs to set ms places 2. IT need to upload BSSIDs to places 3. If Places are setup you could always manually check in 4. Even if setup, end users have to opt-in. IT can't opt-in 'on your behalf Please read the docs on this feature before speaking

@The_Cyber_News Additional information: 1. it's off unless IT adds BSSID of the WiFi APs to Places. 2. Requires MS places to be set up 3. end users have to 'opt-in' to it 4. End users can manually check into a building anyhow Nothing burger as most likely won't setup Places

⚠️ Microsoft Teams to Share Location With Employer Based on Wi-Fi Network Source: cybersecuritynews.com/microsoft-team… Microsoft is preparing to deploy a significant, potentially controversial update to Microsoft Teams that automatically detects and displays a user’s physical work location based on the Wi-Fi network they connect to. According to the latest update on the Microsoft 365 Roadmap (ID 488800), this feature is scheduled to begin rolling out in March 2026 for Worldwide (Standard Multi-Tenant) cloud instances. The update targets both Desktop and Mac platforms, aiming to streamline coordination in hybrid work environments by letting colleagues know exactly which building a user is working from. #cybersecurityNews

Last year, Microsoft Teams hinted at an upcoming feature that would show your location within your office's Wi-Fi network. "Teams will automatically set their work location to reflect the building they are working in." It was supposed to ship this month.
