Big 4 in the UK has PAID apprenticeships for SECONDARY SCHOOL LEAVERS. To get into high end Careers. JP Morgan too Let’s rethink how we approach these talent conversations. You cannot be a big company that doesn’t produce talent.

@DrJoeAbah Good morning Ezenmuo, someone close to Obi said that Obi has been trying to register his own political party, but the establishment wouldn't allow him.

Dr @DrMikeAdenuga, Please put @GloWorld on the capital market like its competitors (@MTNNG and @AirtelNigeria). Your company is one of Nigeria’s biggest brands and it must be jealously protected to stand the test of time. Let us all contribute to its greatness. Glo with pride!

In his eight years in office, how many capital projects did he actually complete? Our power issues would be a thing of the past if not for his mismanagement of the sector. And what about the incessant ASUU strikes we endured under his watch? And the list goes on. Obj? Never again
Karounwi Adini@KarounwiAdini

OBJ's first term was way better than Bola Tinubu's term. He also met oil sales at $19.20 per barrel. In 9 months, inflation dropped under Obasanjo, even when he had a running battle with Labour for increasing fuel prices. By 2001/2002, the effects of Telecoms Liberalisation had come into place, and economy had a 15% increase in GDP. From construction to Agricultural industry, there was growth. His wage awards, "Gbemu Aremu" started lifting hitherto dregs, like teachers and civil servants into lower-middle-class. What OBJ didn't do was tell people to sacrifice by totally removing subsidy and going ahead to insist on a Lagos-Calabar road for almost $13billion, and gifting it to Chagoury. Under OBJ, Chagoury was an outcast, being charged for money laundering by Switzerland and a Persona Non Grata in Nigeria. Under Bola Tinubu, he is the Special Friend of the President, recipient of GCON, and has First Options in several projects like Lagos-Calabar, Sokoto-Badgry, Benin-Akure-Ilesha, Apapa-TinCan Ports, Sagamu-Benin-Ore, or Abuja-Kaduna-Kano road. That is the main difference. Obasanjo ran what looked like an economy, and the economy responded. Bola Tinubu is running, what looks like a crony capitalism, and the economy is responding the same way, when innovation and fair competition are stifled. That is why no Bola Tinubu effort on economy has worked. That is why masses are groaning and based on economy alone, may likely vote it out.

@OneSodiqAlabii We should put context into this. The growths were expected because Nigeria got all our sanctions lifted, which contributed to the decline ab initio. This is not to take away his team’s effort, but just to put things into perspective.

Nigeria has always been at the center of mediating for freedom for other countries. Most South Africans don’t know this; they need to know their history and redirect their energy.

Amid the flood of felicitations following my convocation as Overall Best Graduating Student of LAUTECH, I find it necessary to address the stir around my NELFUND appreciation post. I accept the praise, life changing offers and the backlash, in good faith. Still, it is only fair to set the record straight. I hail from a village in Osun State, raised in a modest family of five. I attended public primary and secondary schools, not by choice, but because even the most inexpensive private schools were beyond our means. Even then, survival itself; food and clothing was a daily struggle. I walked miles to school each morning, while my parents laboured as jacks-of-all-trades to make ends meet. For nine defining years before I entered university, we lived within sight of basic amenities yet beyond our reach, no electricity, no television; just lanterns and candles. Against these odds, I earned a scholarship and now this distinction. In my third year, a coursemate’s father, someone I had once tutored academically, gifted me my first smartphone which I am still using till now. On several occasions, lecturers, moved by quiet compassion, provided me with clothing. There are many other instances, too numerous to recount. So, I say this plainly, not all of us are born with a silver spoon. Some of us climbed the ladder by holding on to every rung of legitimate support we could find. As an engineering student aspiring to make academic history, should I resort myself to blaming my family’s financial situation for my inability to afford fees and essentials like a reliable smartphone or laptop needed for skills and certifications? For me personally, NELFUND was not incidental; it was instrumental and to acknowledge what helped one’s journey is neither propaganda nor misplaced allegiance. It is simply an act of appreciation. Thank you @NELFUND and everyone that contributed to this success! Greatness awaits all of Us.

@NUPkuntiko @phethani4 I hope you know she's a Ugandan. She's visiting one of the poorest states in Nigeria, which is why she's shocked by what she's seeing. Moreover, most of the malls you see in Nigeria are owned by enterprising Nigerians, unlike the situation in other parts of Sub-Saharan Africa.

The CFA is anchored to the Euro and France fixes the exchange rate and controls its through the European Central Bank. Before Benin Republic was mandated to deposit 50% of its reserves with France. What exactly does Benin Republic gain by having a "strong" nominal exchange rate? Nothing. The country has a perpetual trade deficit, more than 9% of its GDP. It doesn't earn up to $2bn in export annually. Benin doesn't earn up to $2bn annually in export, this is less than what Nigeria earns from Cocoa. Their foreign reserve is less than $4bn. What business does a country like this have with a strong currency. Imports from France are cheaper, it's a dumping ground for France. It's cheaper to import bottled water than produce it in Benin Republic. France has used cheap imports to suppress their growth in exchange for a stable currency and cheap foreign products. Their exports are expensive, and apart from raw cotton, what else do they export in Benin Republic to guarantee the nominal exchange rate without the backing of France? A country that can't shape its own manufacturing and export destiny. Nigeria has recorded a trade surplus back-to-back for 3 years with increasing reserves. Our exports are fairly priced and competitive without a pegged or padded currency and the currency has remained stable and trades at market value. This is basic economic analysis.
Moe@Mochievous

I’ve said this before. Forget the USD. Look at our neighbors. 3/4 years ago, the Naira was almost double the CFA, now it has crashed to less than half of the value of the CFA. Meaning if you go to Cotonou today, you need three times as much Naira than in 2021. That’s messed up

He’s a potent goal scorer no doubt but lacks the qualities of such a tag. A world class player is Mbappe, Harry Kane, Aguero, Thierry Henry, Pele, Maradona, Zico, Ronaldo(the original) Messi, CR7. Players who have control, can dribble, can pass through a needle etc. Haaland does not possess these qualities. The term has been bastardized.
Sodiq@techiesodiq

Uncle @chaplinez70, I just finished watching a podcast on YouTube where you said @ErlingHaaland is not a world class player. I do respect your opinion. But please do you care to share your reason for saying that? youtube.com/watch?v=OW0xCc…

@nicholasibekwe I am a software engineer but I can tell you for a fact that Software Engineering is too narrow as a first degree course to study in the university. Let her go for any of these instead: Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical and Electronics Engineering.

As a share of its budget, Lagos is one of least spenders on education. Lagos is however blessed with parents who can afford private schools. The last school census counted 2.9 million children aged 6–14 in Lagos with only 23% enrolled in public primary or junior secondary.
HCI-MCI@drhcimci

My own is, no state in Nigeria has invested as much in education over the last 25 years as Lagos. I don’t know what you guys expect to happen when other states are failing and people keep trooping to Lagos. Why do you think major cities across the world have homeless people?
