@Northorious Yes but they all received their salaries together. You said the soldier hasn't been paid but soldiers have been paid their basic. What they are waiting for now are extra allowances.

Upon my return to Abuja, I was parked by a soldier on duty who asked where I was heading, and I mentioned FCT. He politely asked if could lift one of his colleagues to Abuja, and I said it was fine. When I was few meters close to Giri junction, I asked the officer his route, he was heading to Zuba while I was going through Lugbe axis to the town. I told him Zuba isn’t far. Transport is around 2-300 Naira. I asked if he was going to stop there(Zuba), or he was heading somewhere. He then told me he was going home to see for the first time after 10 months, his newly born twins. No permission was granted over the period. Sadly, he had to make the compulsory trip because his wife had called that one of the babies had died. And she urged him to come see the other twin in case he will die too. I asked him why he didn’t leave earlier than he left. He replied that he waited with the hope that salaries will be paid, since today is second, but it wasn’t, unfortunately. How then do you intend to make it, I asked him. He showed me all the money he had on him –4,500 which wasn’t even enough to get him to his destination. I could not help than give him 20k and I took his phone number, giving him my words that I will call to get information about the sick baby. I want to ask a question, please 🙏🏻 Are these the soldiers we expect to lay down their lives in our protection? You’re owing soldiers, and you want them to be effective while fighting insecurity? Sadly, this is really laughable. Tales of a soldier on easter.

@Northorious @DukeYouthfor @Businesswise247 That's why I walked away. Nine months to being a Major equivalent, I walked away. My mates will be red necks soon and I really don't care. The suppression is mad.

Like I don't get this logic? In Nigeria they say, an under 18 years old girl cannot get married. But plenty times around I see girls age between 14-17 dating and even getting pregnant. I can't count how many I have done pregnancy scanned for and they found themselves pregnant, some will request and beg you to help them terminate the pregnancy (another story for another day, regarding a peculiar one). So for such girls who have tested what sex is and may not be able to 'hold body' isn't marriage a better option for them, than doing multiple abortions? Atleast they will be in a controlled environment. What are your thoughts?

I don’t feel pity for them anymore. Every time concerned citizens try to speak up against these atrocities, it’s the same army that’s sent to silence us. They keep defending the very people oppressing them. If you decide today to lead a protest for better welfare for security personnel, who do you think the politicians will use against you? The same security personnel you’re trying to fight for. So no, I won’t pity them anymore. The day they get tired of these so-called leaders and choose to stand up for what’s right, that’s when I’ll stand with them.
