@sinanisler Yes after you see how close the chinese models are to them, each step they are just behind by an inch + not losing $2k per user per month. This is why the path Cursor has taken to extend via taking the chinese models paired with their harness is so pragmatic.

both openai and nathropic makes dynamic rate limiting and quantized response depending on the regional demand both companies are sneaky af... ofcourse they do that since even with max plan they still lose money. they dont have a choice... on the long term chinese providers will eat them alive...

I am not an expert on claude-code. Their models i've been using for a long time in cursor and via bedrock so I love the way anthopics stuff outputs, its style and quality. But I also can't be wasting 2000 usd a month like i was on their api. For $20 bucks its a easy test. I posted a referral link somewhere for 50% off.

@techopsasia @MekongWhisper @cursor_ai 50% off sounds a lot more realistic. I've noticed that Kimi 2.6 is quite good at front end work, so I have used it a bit there.

I finally see the appeal of @cursor_ai. A couple of nagging projects that I couldn't get any other AI to solve, and in a span of two days, Cursor has solved both of them. I still don't understand the usage because I paid for a $20 account and I'm only at like 4% usage. If any of you are cursor users out there, can you tell me If this is unusual because the big complaints I've seen was how quickly you went through your allotment of tokens.

I'd used it before that discount and was getting good results. i've also been using kimi 2.6 for some other stuff and also phenomenal and cheap. Only issue is kimi 2.6 is extremely slow. Composer is a better deal when factoring in your valulabe time.

@MekongWhisper @techopsasia @cursor_ai I heard that the reason why I had such good results token wise was because they heavily discounted their own model by 90% this weekend. I'm afraid to try it now. 😂

The market doesn't need more AI wrappers with a 2 month shelf life. It needs the backend infrastructure that goes around LLMs and agents for enterprise clients. That's what we've been quietly building since 2022.
