I don't know if it is related, but my Windows 11 setup stopped running dotnet/WPF apps (I think?) a few days ago. MS PowerToys, Logitech Options, Snagit are amongst the casualties. Pulling my hair out now for about 3 days.

@toybuilder @TechSmith For me the installer keeps popping up on every hard start.

Is anyone else having problem with @TechSmith SnagIt lately? Mine was working earlier today, but has stopped working this evening. Even the installer won't run. I think maybe a Windows update might have happened (not sure) and broke it.

Don’t know what you’re talking about… Command + Shift +4 works great on MacOS! Have fun in Clippyland with .@Microsoft My last years as a Windows daily user I used .@TechSmith “SnagIt”… BUT THEN they adopted the “subscription” model and I couldn’t use my paid for old versions anymore…

Is it just me or should the screenshot tool not take 2 GB of memory?

@_chanchanjeu Oh no! That's frustrating that Camtasia isn't handling lots of clips. If you haven't already, you can enable proxy media which helps with high quality streams. Also, can you send us your laptop's specs? We'd like to get an idea of what sorts of machines are struggling.

@buttersoycream That pricing is outdated, Snagit is $39 per year. Snagit is so much more than just a screenshot tool though! With easy video recording, step-by-step capture, scrolling capture, and much more, Snagit can replace other apps that combined cost more monthly than Snagit does per year.

@alexonline888 @Camtasia Thank you for the feedback, we do have voice and avatar generation, but we don't currently have the ability to clone your own voice. We are continuing to integrate Camtasia and Audiate tighter to make that experience smoother.

Finally, Descript lets you just type in new words and the audio is generated to match your voice. Does Audiate do this in my voice, or not? If all you're doing is removing ums and aahs... and frankly, if you're not offering this, that's just not good enough. I'm glad some Audiate features have arrived, but you need to stop the BS and just integrate Audiate into Camtasia fully. Be like Descript.

Hi @Camtasia, are the new Audiate features in Camtasia 2026.3+ free, or are they a trial? I've downloaded Audiate and it seems to be a trial only. I've followed your document... doesn't seem to work, Audiate thinks it is in trial mode. Is this normal?

@jessitron Hi, That is incredibly frustrating. We can confirm there was an outage with our 3rd party licensing server but it is back online now. We will investigate ways to handle future outages better.

TFW you're finally ready to record this important, time-pressure video And Camtasia won't open And you spend an hour reinstalling and fighting it and waiting for it to beachball It was probably the license server. @TechSmith that was some really valuable time down the drain

@TechSmith today I learned this is a pointless setting. it doesnt work at all. Good bye 2 hours of work.

@TechSmith How is it that Camtasia stability gets worse every year. I honestly do not think I have had smooth session since 2023.

Today I found the correct encoding for importing SRT files with audio into Techsmith's Camtasia Video: UTF-8-BOM. Copilot including GPT-5 is good, but couldn't give me this tip, and it's not documented by Techsmith.

@TechSmith why I can't login in your site? I'm trying to renew my Snagit license, but every time I try to login (using Snagit or using the sigin button on your site) I got this error:

@TriathlonRobH We appreciate you sending those! If you are able to provide a sample project and steps, that would be awesome though! Sometimes the logs aren't enough pieces to solve the puzzle.

@AstronomyGarage Do you have the ticket number handy? Knowing which song(s) caused problems will help us get this figured out.

@TechSmith Unfortunately it's not just that song, and I've found that replacing the song won't keep them from re-claiming the same video. I've given up and will delete, re-edit, and upload all of the affected videos with zero Camtasia content. Please fix your YouTube ContentID agreements.
