The Negeri Sembilan royal saga has taken a fresh twist, as the disputed Sungei Ujong chieftain claimed that the nobles who sought his removal had themselves been dismissed earlier over alleged corruption. According to the office of Undang Luak Sungei Ujong, two of the nobles have already lost their status as Dato' Lembaga Adat since December 2024, invalidating their decision to sack Mubarak Thahak as chieftain last year. "Effective Dec 1, 2024, two of the nobles have ceased to hold the status of ‘Orang Bergelar’ (titled persons) in the territory of Sungei Ujong, and any opinions expressed by them are no longer valid," the chieftain's office said in a statement, published on its official Facebook account. Someone jumps into the mess, naively, and discovers what works.
It gets put into textbooks, because it works.
Then people get hired to teach what works as fundamentals, as though they precede discovery.
Students develop a natural aversion to the backwards dryness of what is being "taught."
Worse, companies hire those who do well at backwards dryness, expecting them to discover the next great thing.
You should love learning, but hate education.

@uglyluhan Not so clear. There is overlap between "native" and "indigenous". Malays can be said to be indigenous. I would add that almost all peninsular Malays have some aboriginal ancestry. Most Borneo Malays have some dayak ancestry.

Orang asli refers to the aboriginal groups of peninsular Malaysia, while orang asal includes the indigenous people Borneo. By definition, Malays are not included. Again, Malays are native but not penduduk asal. There were people here before

I'm not too interested in the semantics of whether Malays are settlers or not. As I've previously noted, the "Malays are immigrants" cliche is misleading, and Malays can rightly be considered native to the peninsula, though not aboriginal
