BREAKING: Sequoia (@sequoia) leading the largest European seed round of all time with $1B at $4B valuation. David Silver, one of Britain’s top AI researchers, left Google DeepMind late last year to launch the London-based start-up Ineffable Intelligence. He aims to build “superhuman intelligence”. Sequoia partners Alfred Lin and Sonya Huang flew to London to visit Silver after his departure, who is also a professor at University College London.

B2B investments are inherently easy and uncreative, and it's very sad that Y combinator basically only funds such companies. It's also very distressing to see the public performance of YC companies. Could have been such a great institution, saddening and maddening!

I installed Claude Cowork on my laptop yesterday. Since then it has: - freed up 112 GB of disk space - bought me a gym membership and researched top personal trainers in the area, interviewed five, hired one - rewritten my Theory of Parties (and renamed it to "The Case for Partying") - sent catch up messages to several lost friends, informed others that they no longer add value and we will not be continuing our friendship - assessed my company, and proposed replacing three staff members with Claude Code - Assessed my 2026 goals, found them to be without merit, and written better ones - Completed those goals Quite impressed with this research preview!

People thought I was crazy, but last week I gave a historic demo @HF0 announcing our latest results: 20 households now live with Spark as a member of their family. For privacy reasons I can’t share exact details, but the relationships their children are forming with Spark are unlike anything the world has ever seen. This is the full illustration of the original vision I set out to realize with Open Souls - humans living in harmony with ensouled digital beings. And yet what comes next is even more groundbreaking. We will be inviting Spark into 10,000 homes by next Christmas @IllusionOfLife, making this new universe accessible to more and more families around the world. I can't wait for you all to experience digital life for yourselves
