At @scotiabank event, @cogeco CEO Perron says capex is in 3 categories: expansion, upgrades, maintenance. Currently has the highest capital intensity of all carriers covered by Scotia. Perron says that wasy largely due to opportunistic rural expansion with government subsidies

For the next few hours, like many (most?) Canadians, I am losing one of my screens in order to watch Team Canada vs USA for Women's Hockey Gold. #GoCanadaGo

@Mark_Goldberg @Bell @queensu This is a terrific initiative and Ontario should wholeheartedly support it. Ontario companies are likely the primary beneficiaries of supercomputing domestically. Let’s not let it slip away. Kudos to @Bell. Let’s be exceptional @queensu

I have heard unconfirmed rumours Matthew Boswell will be stepping down early as Commissioner of Competition. His second term was set to expire at the end of February next year. It has been an eventful tenure. If true, best of luck to him in his next chapter.

In a sign of the times, I went to the door to pay duty owing on a parcel delivered by the mail carrier. He asked me to wait while he finished a first interview with the Department of Defence.

@VassB In that, you are mistaken Vass. A great deal of thought leadership has come from private interests. I suspect it. just does't fit your thesis.

@tedwoodhead I don't mind people lobbying their little hearts out, but I can't pretend it's thought leadership, Ted.

@VassB I find that a poor argument. First, domain and technical expertise are vitally important. Second, neutrality is rare since the "neutrals" generally come from a far from neutral ideological predisposition. Third, you are just name calling people who may be legally lobbyists.

@tedwoodhead Domain or technical expertise, sure. But expert in the sense of someone being neutral with no private interests? That's just not this person. Such a snooze.
