34.8°C in the UK. In May. Warmest spring day ever. Beating the previous record by 2°C. Burning fossil fuels has made this heatwave hotter. True for the UK today, and everywhere else, all of the time.

It was hotter in 1976 than it is now so these people spewing this nonsense need to sit this one out. Who remembers the heatwave in 1976? We had fun & lived to tell the tale

There we have it! Previous May temperature record beaten by a full 2°C. In a long term national weather record that is a ridiculous amount. Previous record exceeded at at least 13 other locations. Climate deniers obsessed with airfield weather stations will be disappointed.

Why is every restaurant I go to absolutely a 5/10? Average food, average-to-poor service. I can't tell you the last time I went to a restaurant and thought, "This was amazing, I'll definitely be back." Anyone else?

Heat records are going to get smashed today and tomorrow and it's still MAY. The usual geniuses are still commenting with 'it's just summer, stop moaning and of course insults. Our houses are built to trap heat like bloody ovens. Thick insulation, brick walls, tiny windows, bugger all airflow and zero AC. Then there's humidity where your sweat can't even cool you down and it's miserable. This is only the beginning. As global temperatures keep rising, heatwaves will become more frequent, more intense, and even harder to cope with especially in places not built for sustained extreme heat like the UK.

Not only the hottest day in May ever, but also the hottest bank holiday ever, beating every single August bank holiday going back to 1884 when records began. It is spring...and the daily maximum hasn't been reached yet.

A 60K salary was comfortable middle class just a decade ago Now with taxes then rent, living expenses, car, essential shopping there’s absolutely nothing left, especially in London So now 60k is basically a working class salary That’s the new reality unless you do something about it
