everyone in nigeria talking about solar when what we need is portable nuclear reactors safe enough to never become a bomb because uhh yeah i don’t need to explain that but the energy density of solar panels is too small for the country to manage at such a large scale(200m nigerians) nothing about our government/people indicates that it could manage a tasks so delicate as solar power generation for 200m so let’s stop assuming solar conversation will always be elite talk but energy density required to bring cheap electricity for 200m people that’s nat gas and/or nuclear…let’s stop the cap

A client messaged me yesterday: “…God bless you for pulling me out of this shame.” Let me tell you what happened. In August 2025, an NCLEX coach hired a developer to build a practice platform for his students. This man had spent 2 years building a respected brand on Telegram. Hundreds of nursing students trusted him. Paid him. Were waiting on him to launch the practice web app. He had made a promise. Months passed. Nothing worked. The developer kept asking for more money. Millions of naira gone. 6 months of excuses. Students started leaving. His reputation that’s built over 2 years was crumbling in real time. A mutual client referred him to me. We got on a call. I listened. Told him the hard truth: we had to start from scratch. Gave him a quote. He said yes. One week later. Fully functional NCLEX practice platform. ✅ Computer Adaptive Testing (CAT) that mirrors the real exam ✅ 15 NGN question types — Bow-Tie, Dropdown Cloze, Trend, Matrix and more ✅ Real-time student performance tracking ✅ Full dashboard with analytics Built from zero. In 7 days. The best developer isn’t the one who writes codes but The one who understands your business, your students, and what’s actually at stake. Are you a coach or training institution sitting on a broken promise from a developer? Or still running your program on Telegram, WhatsApp and Google Forms? You don’t have to stay there. DM me, let’s build the platform your students actually deserve.

So if you buy a new laptop and mistakenly uninstall the browser that comes with it, how would you download the browser back since you don’t have a browser to install the browser?🤔🤔

A very simple improvement that nairaland can do for user experience is to make it possible to toggle open and close responses on a thread. Some of them become so long that it takes forever to scroll.

@stanlee0nX Way back there was a theme that Wordpress devs (I mean contributors) use to update and ask questions. It was just like this. I’m talking about 2013-15. This is not even the flex you think it is.

@wierdtallguy @festus90940 I love lean approaches toward building. Wordpress doesn’t allow me to be lean. Sometimes I just need an index, css and js file and my project is all ready. With WP I have to follow specific pattern as it has its own rules, I’m more flexible without it.

Re: Wordpress is limited. Try and build a plugin and your own theme with WP. Also try doing it with Genesis framework and not Elementor. You can even extend a plugin and use that.

@wierdtallguy @festus90940 I’m tired of this conversation tbh. I was on this space in 2014/15 when it was really a thing then. If you have gone through WP’s source code you’d see hooks and filters. You can always extend the capabilities. The major reason I moved away from WP was the bloat.

@dartboy2002 @the234saint The low-code is a feature, not a limitation. As for the limitations, WordPress isn't easy to customize, has higher risk of security vulnerabilities, and not scalable because of the large dependency on plugins.

Let’s talk about baby coders who start attacking WordPress after learning learn html and css It’s not about building calculator case studies, what have you actually built to solve a problem?

The easiest way for me to make money way back was setting up AWS and charging for hosting. At the time my cousin plugged me in to Interswitch’s 5TB server. I was just cooking. Got my first good gif just because I could load balance on AWS. I learnt all of that from YT.

Sometimes you will save yourself a whole lot of headache if you use a cloud solution rather than “self hosting” and “self managing” servers. Especially if you’re a small team.
