my favorite All Purpose Cleaner changing their formula, reducing its effectiveness and makingg it shitty, has been a more destabilizing force in my life than breakups or job loss. But i found a replacement that is even greater. One of many signs that life has turned around

It's actually a crime against humanity how elegant and beautiful the internet used to be, and now everything just looks like garbage. we are constantly swimming in garbage, both IRL and online. How do the tech elites think anything looks fine now? Why is everyone just rotting?

Japanese food is like “I trained for 10 years at sushifascism camp before I was even allowed to touch this cut of tuna. If you disrespect me by dunking it in soy sauce for more that .5 seconds I will commit seppuku at the sushi counter” whereas Korean food is like bbq sugarmeat

i'd almost scoff at a historian be like "well in the bottom right of this painting there's an upside down owl motif which ties it to <random theme shared among a group of cultures>" but then you have some kind of schizophrenic awakening and understand it, like learning a language

unexpected learned skill from being involved in mayan epigraphy this long has been being able to see a random motifs in cultures you don't specialize in and draw lines between them based on tiny visual cues almost automatically
