@hythloday1 Well we can only hope your evaluation of Perich is as good as the one you did of Dillon Thieneman! Hoping he “won’t start” for Oregon then be one of the best players on the roster and a top 20 pick 😃

The hardest part in reviewing DB Koi Perich's tape is that Minnesota switched to an extremely aggressive boom-or-bust defense in 2025 which constantly gave up big plays (15+ yards on 12.51% of meaningful snaps defended, 97th nationally, compared to Oregon's 8.54%, 4th).

@Irmenberga @page_eco Its like telling Samoa Joe that he has an 8.3% chance of beating you at the PPV triple threat match once you subtract the normal 50% chance from the 66 and 1/3% chance and make a new total sum from 75% and 66.67% for a new 141.67% chance of Steiner winning the belt

Kids’ cognition is often much better than we give it credit for. This is a great illustration of a seemingly strange behaviour that reflects an optimal behavioural response to a change in the situation. Who is Jessica? Why is the parent calling this person? Is this call linked to the child’s behaviour? They need to assess this situation and reallocate cognitive resources from complaining, which is a negotiating strategy, to preparing for whatever may be unfolding next.

NEW: Oregon QB coach Koa Ka’ai evaluates recruits with a simple question: “Chocolate or vanilla ice cream?” Any hesitation… and coach doesn’t want him. “If you pause on ice cream,” Ka’ai says, “what are you going to do on 3rd down in front of 110,000 fans?” 😳

The more you humanize a non-human, the less compelling those non-humans become. For me one of the lowest points of The Hobbit films was when they had Thorin flirting with Tauriel. Throughout all the books and previous movies, dwarfs showed zero interest in romance. Now suddenly one’s making eyes at an ELF?! Ugh .
Night Danger@WithNightDanger

Nobody is tired of orcs. People love orcs. Most consistently popular non-human thing outside maybe Dwarves. You know what people are tired of? Green humans with teeth designed to be hot but non-threatening

Washington Huskies football surged in 2023 (Pac-12 era)—but that spike hasn’t carried into the Big Ten. Back to brand baseline (little change from Pac-12 to Big Ten)… and in this Big Ten, that’s dangerous. Slip even slightly, and you risk getting pushed into weaker TV channels/slots—where brand erosion begins. Full breakdown: youtube.com/watch?v=aTP0aQ…

On this date in 1939, the Oregon Ducks won the first men’s NCAA basketball championship, defeating Ohio State by the score of 46-33. The last time an NCAA men's tournament game had fewer than 80 combined points was in 1999, when 12-seed Missouri State beat 5-seed Wisconsin, 43-32.

@Dcaggs "But “Burn the Boats” is a tactic that he adopted first written about by Sun Tzu." He was probably writing about how Arthas did it way back in Warcraft III

This has blown up a bit. Let me just add that this upsets me because we are allowing people to find reasons to be offended by things because of associations. If you want to not like Cortes for what he did that’s fine and I’m all for that. But “Burn the Boats” is a tactic that he adopted first written about by Sun Tzu. Attributing it to him like he was the only one to do it, or even the one it should be solely associated with is reckless. History matters. Historical context matters. Getting rid of a seasons slogan because people are choosing to incorrectly associate the phrase with indigenous massacres is honestly silly. Stop trying to find the reasons to be offended when we live in a broken world that has so many issues.

Fucking morons don’t even know why Cortes said this. Go read the art of war by Sun Tzu and realize that several military commanders did this over the course of history including Alexander the Great, Xiang Yu, and Ziyad. This is such a soft bullshit over reaction. You know who did massacres? The fucking Aztecs. Go read a damn book.

NEW: Syracuse men's lacrosse will no longer be wearing its "Burn the Boats" warmups, per an SU Athletics spokesperson This comes after two former students argued the phrase is "a nod to his brutal massacre, enslavement and colonization of the Indigenous Peoples of the Americas."

Now this one is genius. Personally I would ditch the swimming pool and just make that area a lawn/formal garden/fire pit area. But you can imagine having friends over after kids have gone to bed and they would never hear you no matter how loud it would get. We have two couples on a regular “game night” once a month. Which usually involves some drinks and always involves raucous noise.

A girl goes into the doctor’s office for a checkup. As she takes off her blouse, the doctor notices a red “H” on her chest. “How did you get that mark on your chest?” asks the doctor. “Oh, my boyfriend went to Harvard, and he’s so proud of it he never takes off his Harvard sweatshirt, even when we make love,” she replies. A couple of days later, another girl comes in for a checkup. As she takes off her blouse, he notices a blue “Y” on her chest. “How did you get that mark on your chest?” the doctor asks. “Oh, my boyfriend went to Yale, and he’s so proud of it that he never takes off his Yale sweatshirt, even when we make love,” she replies. A couple of days later, another girl comes in for a checkup. As she takes off her blouse, he notices a green “M” on her chest. “Do you have a boyfriend at Michigan?” asks the doctor. She replies, “No, but I have a girlfriend at Wisconsin.” “Why do you ask?”

I read once about how heavy compound movements like squats and deadlifts release the most hgh. Idk how true, but it definitely does something. Deadlift is not exactly a "bodybuilding lift", but more often than not, you will find the biggest guys have heavy deadlifts in their otherwise bodybuilding-focused routine. Whatever the mechanisms at play, the body just adapts to the load you put it under. If you want to put on some real size, watch the guys who have some real size.

Solutions for mouse utopia: 1)leave the overcrowding for the countryside 2)create rituals of facing pain and struggle that you incorporate into the school system and society to keep people’s nervous systems operating 3)create decentralized social structures of leadership and community where people hold together against the behavioral sink both to police their own sanity and against the evil envious mice trying to kill them 4)create principals and rules of what behavior constitutes slipping into the behavioral sink so that groups hold one another accountable 5)establish social institutions that can bypass the envious and destructive institutions to help people generate new creativity on an individual basis 6)massively support creativity, innovators and art culturally since the last mice to go crazy in the experiments were the tunneler mice who had their own hobby of tunneling. Having that hobby kept the mice sane longer when the rest were dependent on the group for sanity. That’s my plan.
Ghost of Rhodesia🫥@GhostRhodesia

@whatifalthist To me, The scariest aspect of mouse utopia is the fact that there are no solutions. Give us infinite wealth, luxury, and power and look what we do with it. Life is the struggle against death. No struggle means no life. Hence our insistence on suicide. The truth is terrible
