Tomorrow’s opening session features Thomas G. DiNanno, @KristenMichalPM, @jana_puglierin, @ediramaal, and @RugeBoris, moderated by @terischultz. A timely discussion on European security and transatlantic relations going forward. #LennartMeriConference

🇺🇦🇺🇸 Secretary of the Army Driscoll: "Ukraine's Delta common operating system, their modular open system architecture, C2 system is absolutely incredible. It fully integrates every single drone, sensor, and shooting platform into just one single network. Ours does not." Wow, if only Ukraine was offering the United States some sort of deal that would facilitate the sharing of this technology.

I just had another exchange with @Braze_Baiba about the recent drone incidents in Latvia. The investigations proved that this was the result of Russian electronic warfare deliberately diverting Ukrainian drones from their targets in Russia. I reaffirmed Ukraine’s willingness to work together with Baltic nations and Finland to prevent such incidents, including with the direct involvement of our specialists. Our goal is to ensure maximum safety for Latvia, other Baltic states, and Finland. First, by effectively countering Russian agression and degrading Russia’s war machine. Second, by helping to strengthen the protection of our friends’ air space.
As we reported in March, the Trump admin failed to fully account for the potential consequences of Iran closing the strait & underestimated their willingness to do so prior to launching the war — leading to what some officials have described as a worst-case scenario: cnn.com/2026/03/12/pol…

Europe’s security architecture still rests on a simple formula: Strong Europe + U.S. presence = stability. NATO was built to deter Russia, but also to help manage power balance in Europe. That logic hasn’t disappeared. My new piece in @nytopinion:

Only two percent of Danes believe that the United States would come to Denmark’s rescue if a military threat against Denmark were to arise. 1/
