Agree for one additional reason. Hardware is a moat. Great hardware that's reliable and simple for the user is very difficult. Most companies cannot do it so it's reliable and profitable -- and also beautiful so that folks want to be seen with it. Amazon fails frequently with hardware despite tons of money (we're biased, but they literally stole our devices and still cannot win... news.bloomberglaw.com/ip-law/amazon-… ) and they had to cut many employees while Alexa and its hardware lose money. Look at Elon Musk vs car companies worth billions and who have decades of head start. Hardware genius (autism?) is not like software. You can't fake it, throw on a pretty skin, and update over the cloud when you find a bug. It needs to work thousands+ of times an hour without fail. It needs to take a beating. It needs to be delivered complete and on time. It needs to be instantly intuitive and future-proof. It's so difficult to get Hardware right that when we launched GateGuard VCs weren't touching Hardware so I bootstrapped it because I was convinced we could prevail. Apple does this well. Samsung and the Chinese phone/car guys do it well. Google is hit and miss, but no epic lovable product. Microsoft very hit and miss (mouse, Xbox, surface... no uniformity though). Apple... there's nobody as good as them in the West. It's a very small club who can play in Hardware at that level. Apple will do well. Agreed.
