Tomorrow me and @suejhaile50 fly to Amsterdam to talk about the Homicide Timeline, then we do the same in Antwerp, Rotterdam and Leuven. Busy and exciting week. The book and research are certainly starting some incredible conversations

Delighted to be at this brilliant event led by the @ASBAPPG at the Labour Party Conference. Really engaged audience, once again highlighting the importance of the work we are doing - despite running over it felt like the discussions could have easily gone on for much longer still! Some key themes for the session: - Role of the APPG - History of #ASB legislation - What is ASB - definition and need for clarity - Problem solving in courts - Partnership work - Responding to local community needs - Role of gender in ASB - Young people, care leavers and ASB - Strengthening communities - Role of housing providers in building sustainable neighbourhoods #CommunitySafety

Challenging racism is everyone’s business , inaction from bystanders is shameful especially an off duty police officer . Hoping the CEO of @SBSisters recovers from her ordeal and the perpetrator is appropriately dealt with .
Dame Nicole Jacobs@CommissionerDA

Reports that the CEO of @SBSisters was racially attacked last week, as a police officer stood by, should concern us all. We need urgent action to address racism in the Met. My thoughts are with Selma as she copes with the trauma of this terrible attack.

Today's news shows violence against women and girls is still so tragically prevalent. More must urgently be done to prevent further lives lost and guarantee the safety of women and girls. Our thoughts are with this girl’s family at this painful time. womensaid.org.uk/womens-aid-sta…

Many survivors of domestic abuse go to extreme lengths to protect themselves from the perpetrator. To have it all undermined by a data breach is dangerous & a serious setback. Public services must heed @ICOnews calls today to protect victims' data. theguardian.com/society/2023/s…

She sat at the back and they said she was shy She led from the front and they hated her pride They asked her advice and then questioned her guidance They branded her loud then were shocked by her silence When she shared no ambition, they said it was sad So she told them her dreams and they said she was mad They told her they'd listen then covered their ears And gave her a hug whilst they laughed at her fears And she listened to all of it, thinking she should Be the girl they told her to be, best as she could But one day she asked what was best for herself Instead of trying to please everyone else So she walked to the forest and stood with the trees She heard the wind whisper and dance with the leaves And she spoke to the willow, the elm and the pine And she told them what she'd been told, time after time She told them she felt she was never enough She was either too little or far, far too much Too loud or too quiet, too fierce or too weak Too wise or too foolish, too bold or too meek Then she found a small clearing, surrounded by firs And she stopped and she heard what the trees said to her And she sat there for hours not wanting to leave For the forest said nothing, it just let her breathe ****** Becky Hemsley 2021

I am extremely concerned by harrowing reports on #FamilyCourt published @BBCNews today. I hear from hundreds of victims & survivors about the devastation wrought by family court proceedings. We need urgent and wide-reaching reforms to restore public faith in the family court
Ed Thomas@EdThomasNews

For months we’ve been investigating serious alleged failures in our #FamilyCourt A convicted child rapist was granted residency of a child. 5 mums died, 3 took their own lives. 75 children forced into contact with dads reported for abuse. #bbcnews bbc.co.uk/news/uk-665314…
