My son just told me the only country he has ever pledged allegiance to is Australia. He did K-3rd grade in Darwin, and since we moved back to US, he has always refrained from doing the pledge of allegiance, because his allegiance has already been pledged. Wtf

As an Australian of Greek migrant heritage, I find Kos Samaras’s “We Greeks want revenge against Anglos” racial commentary extremely embarrassing and humiliating. When I was growing up almost all my friends were Anglo-Celtic. I never had any problems aside from basic schoolyard banter. I really wish Kos would just find a way to resolve his own strange internal racial trauma without involving the rest of the Greek Australian community and giving us all a bad name. I don’t want to be part of some weird sectarian Third Worldist coalition against white people. I just want to be Australian. I like the British history and culture that built up Australia as a prosperous democracy and I want my kids to enjoy it too. That’s all I want.

I don’t want whatever Kos thinks he’s selling with his racial grievance commentary. I just want Australia to be Australia and I want my kids to be part of it. I think a lot of people who descend from migrants want the same.

Farmers across Australia are warning that hard caps on migration will hit food production and push grocery prices even higher. Their message is pretty straightforward:
“If you want affordable food on the table, farms need workers.” For years Australian agriculture has relied heavily on migrant labour to pick fruit, harvest crops, process food and keep regional farms operating. Many farmers are already struggling to fill these roles locally. The reality is simple:
Less workers = lower food production.
Lower food production = higher prices at the checkout. People can debate migration policy all they want, but the people actually growing Australia’s food are openly saying labour shortages are already hurting the industry. At some point Australia has to answer a basic question:
Who exactly is going to do the work that keeps the country fed?

Indian Sikh’s are allowed to carry ‘religious daggers’ & women aren’t even allowed to carry pepper spray in Australia. A Sikh used his ‘religious dagger’ to stab an Aussie woman 26 times & cut her throat in Cairns, Far North Queensland. The next morning her dad found her body in a shallow grave 800 metres from her car & her dog tied to a tree. The Indian fled to India & has only recently been jailed years later.
