@tex_238 @BananaRep405 No he didn’t? Alief is in Southwest Houston. You’re thinking of Aldine.
English

"Compact Texas!" as he snakes inner city Houston into the suburbs and exurbs to get a 6D-3R split from an R+8 metro.
Will@tex_238
Compact Texas! • 2024: 21 R-17 D • 2020: 23 D-15 R I stayed within county lines as much as the population limit allowed me to do. Clearly, this shows that compact maps are only ever favorable to the GOP, therefore, compact= fair.
English

Not you buying bots after I started to ratio you lmao.

@BananaRep405 Again, youre arguing about a completely different subject from your quote tweet and you’re mad that you got caught and keep spamming my mentions with more comments.
I’m done for the night take care (=
English

@tex_238 You gonna get caught up in pedantry or are you actually gonna make a point here?
English

So quite literally the only ones that goes from the suburbs into inner Houston are the two east Houston seats that would have needed to stay within Harris County or snake along into rural Chambers and Liberty county lmao.
And one of those is a toss up seat.

English

@BananaRep405 We split it the same amount unless you didn’t create a land bridge around sea brook or else your Galveston district isn’t contiguous by land
English

@BananaRep405 That was not the point whatsoever in your quote tweet lol. You said I took inner city precincts and snaked it into the exurbs.
I see you’re from OKC! Look at a map of Houston next time
English

@tex_238 You sacrificed compactness for partisanship on your map is my point. You created mostly R+30 seats and D+15 seats.
English

@BananaRep405 That’s perfectly reasonable to discuss. Saying I drew inner Houston with the exurbs is not lmao.
You even took liberties by putting blood red majority Kingwood into majority Latino Alief
English

You even took Kingwood into Alief
English

@CA_Memorial He also just does not know Houston geography if he’s thinking I’m connecting downtown to the exurbs lmao
English

@MetsFanInTexas The only reason why downtown Houston is connected east toward Pasadena was to keep the Latino majority precincts (a smattering of light red and light blue precincts) together and it still results in a toss up district
English

@MetsFanInTexas In what way if all I did was keep neighboring communities together.
You cannot say it is better to have downtown Houston with Chambers county or to take Spring into Conroe
English

@amymostella If you can easily draw white blue seats you can try to find a way to at least draw plurality black red seats….. and if there’s not a way to, then that’s a core issue of the Republican Party and why the voting rights act was enacted in the first place.
English

@tex_238 black opportunity districts violates the scotus order stop wanting special treatment
English

“I made race neutral maps & made them as clean as possible”.
You deliberately sliced Black majority communities to fit the GOP’s needs.
There are various ways to make clean GOP gains w/out razing Black opportunity districts, but clearly partisanship is not the real issue here

Andrew Johnson🇺🇸@AndrewJ132
I made race-neutral maps for the deep south+TN. I tried making them as clean as possible while still making safe seats (>Trump+10). The total count would be 43R-4D. 8 flips from the current maps.
English

@BananaRep405 @ForCharlie47 Draw a way to keep them compact that doesn’t combine suburbs with the the city without making them snake out into rural exurbs
English

@BananaRep405 @ForCharlie47 Not near my computer atm but the only counties split more than twice are the large ones (Harris, Travis, Bexar, Tarrant, Dallas). The only ones split once is to account for population deviations and are minimal
English

@The_Dug_0ut Because there’s an entire community of specific voters there. You’re not doing partisan gerrymandering if you’re using drawing out specific racial blocks.
English

@AstorAaron @AndrewJ132 @tex_238 It absolutely said Rs can break up majority black districts if done for partisan purposes. According to Callais Rs could slice up not only Memphis but also Metro Atlanta to build a bunch of ugly Trump+2 seats if they want - they shouldn't, though. claude.ai/chat/eef840eb-…
