More recently, she served with honour as the Chairperson of the Nairobi Water and Sewerage Company from 2020, championing far-reaching reforms that strengthened the institution and improved service delivery. We mourn the loss of a great intellectual and a pioneering woman who opened doors and lit the path for many career women. On my own behalf and that of all Kenyans, I convey heartfelt condolences to the family of the late Jaramogi Oginga Odinga on Beryl’s passing. May God’s grace, comfort, and compassion be with you during this difficult time.

Beryl Achieng Odinga died at 78. Raila died at 80. And Oburu is now 82. And then Anyang Nyongo is 80, James Orengo is 74. These fellows are OLD. Very OLD. Jomo Kenyatta died at 81. He was younger than Oburu. He became president at 70. He was younger than Orengo. History is DYING!
