Today had two bags of mussels (today is 12/7). One packed 8/7 and the other 5/7 - although both good the 8/7 ones were nicer - suspect I’ll start demanding 4 days or less from packing!

@aprice1985 The risk is 1:50 to 1:20 with iga ttg 10xuln won’t have CD and will be committed to a life avoiding gluten for no reason and at additional expense; also unnecessary worry and costly monitoring for cd complications - I wonder if there is an economical and qol assessment on this

@tgarcez The study data of at worst 95% ppv at 10x uln I think is very reassuring for that cutoff to rule in. However less than 10x ULN biopsy definitely still has a role in my mind. And in adults many ttg results dont hit 10x.

Is IgA TTG sufficient to confirm / exclude coeliac disease? I'm not sure and still think duodenal biopsy has a role to avoid unnecessary gluten avoidance. gut.bmj.com/content/70/5/8…
