@JKFischer My gut still says he signs an extension in Minny but it’s definitely a little more interesting now. Also, he said he’d spend the offseason getting to know Minnesota, and has since spent the summer in NJ with his brothers.

I know Minnesota has the cap space to extend Quinn Hughes even for the max for next season. And given the state of their roster, he'd be their top defenseman for sure. So I find it curious that an extension hasn't been signed by Quinn Hughes yet. Who or what is the hold up?

Agreed. Easiest path with the least resistance and risk is Quinn plays out the current contract. When he becomes a UFA, sign with New Jersey and he can play with both brothers on the same team. Devils give up nothing. If this trend continues, Devils will have cap space to spend next season and now have draft capital with the Nemec trade. The three year deal with the Wild makes no sense for Quinn unless it’s a 8 year sign and trade deal to New Jersey. #NJDevils #MNWild

Had a deeply surreal dream last night that we acquired Quinn. Devils twitter went nuclear w excitement. Guerin revealed Quinn came to him after spending time w family in Jersey & wanted out. There were 2 1st’s involved & idk what players. Woke up to dissapointment.

@AlexC_NJD The only way it makes sense to trade Dougie this offseason is if Quinn was being traded to the Devils, which seems highly unlikely.
