Positive news for the global economy this afternoon: the Strait of Hormuz will now remain fully open for the duration of the ceasefire. Oil prices have already dropped sharply in response.
It’s clear that Iran’s leadership is under significant pressure and has been overwhelmed by US military power. That the full opening of Hormuz is related to Israel-Lebanon ceasefire is not true by the mullahs.
This is a success for the United States, though uncertainty persists as negotiations between Washington and Tehran continue. The possibility of talks breaking down should not be dismissed.
My assessment at this stage of the conflict: Trump is still handling the situation effectively.
