Catastrophic insurance is actually what “insurance” is supposed to mean. Routine costs (doc visits, occasional urgent care, prescriptions, the sort of stuff that people predictably use) were paid in cash - and were cheaper because of it. INSURANCE was supposed to be for unpredictable costs, like getting cancer or hit by a bus. And catastrophic insurance was fantastic for that purpose without breaking the bank. “Insurance” for predictable, routine costs that most people incur is just called “paying overhead on top of expenses,” which is why most people carry accident insurance but not maintenance insurance on their cars. It wasn’t consumers who were stupid.
Launch! - Blue Haired Liberal@DBZYuYuYasha

@InezFeltscher Catastrophic insurance basically isn't insurance. That's why it was effectively banned. Most consumers don't understand how it would work and therefore it's not fit to sell.

Every single poll shows the exact same numbers. GOP voters are holding strong for Trump. Independent voters have left him in droves. Guess which voter decides elections. Don’t do the “polls are all lying!” thing people do when the numbers don’t look good.

All of this correct, and she did so much more. The biggest move was to take the National Intelligence Council out of the CIA and put it into the ODNI office. The NIC is the group who forms all of those so-called national security threat assessments. The NIC write all of the intelligence assessments from the broad spectrum of all intel agencies. The NIC was the small group chokepoint to structure false intel that would frame policy. The NIC is where Eric Ciaramella and many more operated, including the latest NSA intercept that was turned into a fake whistleblower intel report.

WHY IS THE DEEP STATE AND ITS MEDIA ARM GOING AFTER TULSI GABBARD? A thread. 1/ The attacks started the moment she was confirmed as DNI. The NYT, WaPo, Guardian — coordinated barrages. But look at the *pattern* and ask who benefits. 2/ WAVE ONE — THE IRAN TRAP (March 2025): Tulsi testified that the IC assessed Iran was NOT building a nuclear weapon. That is literally her job — she read the community's assessment. It was NOT her personal opinion. But the press plastered it everywhere to wedge her from Trump. 3/ WAVE TWO — THE WHISTLEBLOWER SMEAR (Feb 2026): The Guardian and NYT ran coordinated stories claiming Tulsi 'hid' a complaint for 8 months. Tulsi fired back: the IG found the complaint NOT CREDIBLE. Sen. Tom Cotton: 'just another smear campaign.' She followed the law. Every. Single. Time. 4/ WAVE THREE — JOE KENT (March 2026): Tulsi appointed Kent to lead NCTC. This same man spent YEARS warning Iran was a major threat. Then he abruptly quits, does a Tucker Carlson tour, and NOW says Iran is no threat and Trump was 'dragged into war by Israel.' An about-face so complete it's almost choreographed. The press immediately tied the Kent chaos back to TULSI — not to Kent. 5/ WHY TULSI? Because while all this noise was being made, she was quietly doing THIS: ✅ Declassified JFK, RFK & MLK files ✅ Released proof Obama's team MANUFACTURED the Russia hoax ICA ✅ Declassified Biden-era docs labeling political dissidents as 'domestic extremists' ✅ Cut ODNI bloat by 40%, saving $700M/year ✅ Revoked clearances of Clapper, Brennan-linked figures ✅ Investigating Crossfire Hurricane, COVID origins, election security 6/ THE DNI HAS UNIQUE DECLASSIFICATION POWER. No other cabinet official can do what she's doing. She is the only person in government with the authority and the will to expose the institutional criminality of the intelligence community — and they know it. 7/ Joe Kent didn't embarrass himself. He was deployed as a heat-seeking missile aimed at Tulsi — to give the media a 'Gabbard chaos' narrative, create distance between her and Trump, and pressure her resignation before she finishes the job. 8/ The London press, the NYT, the WaPo — none of them are covering what she's actually DONE. They're covering the noise designed to stop her. Tulsi Gabbard is directly over the target. That's why every gun is pointing at her.

On a panel of Veterans with diverse views on the Iran war, I asked a simple question: whom does this war benefit? Is this war for America's interests? To keep AMERICANS safe? Or is it for the business and geopolitical interests of Israel?

@RealJamesWoods Both sides want this bill defeated. Their little cat and mouse games keep the coffers filled and grifters employed. Eliminating either of the parties essentially destroys the other. A game we all pay for.

Closing thought on why I had Auburn in the field: -6 of 7 Auburn metrics were <= 44 (#44 was the last at-large team selected) -Auburn is the first team to ever miss the field (NET era, since 2018-19 season) with every metric <= 46 as of Selection Sunday -Excluding teams that won 3+ conference tournament games, Auburn is the 1st Power Conference school to ever miss the field with both a NET and resume avg < 45.0 -Auburn is the first team to ever miss the field with a resume average < 50.0 and a true road win at a 1 seed -Auburn had three notable elite wins over SEC regular season champ Florida (A), SEC Tournament Champ Arkansas (H), and Big East double champ St. John's (N) -Auburn alone had six wins vs the at-large field. SMU, NC State and Miami OH combined had seven wins vs the at-large field -Auburn played an extremely difficult schedule, #4 overall/ #15 Non Conference SOS, and the metrics account for this Obviously, I could have gone with consensus and had Auburn out. But consensus also had West Virginia in last year... The Committee tends to throw us at least one curveball at the bubble. I took a shot, I was wrong. I can live with that.

The conservative commentariat now spends most of its time talking to itself about itself. It is increasingly divorced from the issues that impact actual Americans. It can’t even pretend to care anymore. I’m disgusted by the whole thing at this point. All I can say is that on my show we do researched deep dives every single day into the actual issues, including the stuff that the news cycle ignores. We will continue to do that. I’m not getting sucked into this black hole of bullshit. I didn’t sign up to star in a soap opera. No interest.

@ITGuy1959 @mirandadevine It’s become a grifting game of staying in power, for both sides. There’s no desire for one side to win over the other or the more dreaded compromise. Either option kills the vitriol that garner headlines and campaign $. We’ve been played.

More confirmation of what we all knew was happening with the Mueller debacle.👇 It’s worth remembering that when Mueller was appointed, Republican members of Congress joined the Dems in heaping praise on Mueller as a bastion of integrity who would run a strictly impartial investigation. And later they did the same bipartisan singing of high praise with Saint Fauci, who was possibly one the most evil figures in all of human history. As a collective body, they are absurdly gullible, just plain dumb, or just plain hate their voters. It has to be at least one of these things.
