My first job in Houston was a gas station, there was always corner boys in the store but they were always nice and would buy me snacks. They were from Louisiana. The area wasn’t safe so everyone knew I left at 10 on the dot everyday. I stayed until 10:12 one day, They robbed the store at gun point. I was so traumatized. I didn’t see them for a few weeks so when they eventually came to buy backwoods, they noticed I was shook. They was like “why you ain’t leave at 10 the other day”. I was like ??? They were like, “we not saying we robbed the store, we just saying you wasn’t supposed to be here when it happened, Slim. Next time leave at 10” and slipped me a 50😭
