@FreyDaddy4 @Buccigross Indiana football winning a national title was an absurdity just a few years ago. Indiana grads I know still can’t believe it because that program was nothing, forever. That was my point. Much easier for smaller schools to be relevant in college hockey.

Dear Gopher hockey fans, I know many of you are upset about the hire of Brett Larson. While I'm not the greatest hockey mind, I am an SCSU graduate. But when I was there from 2007-2010, there were 18,000+ kids on campus at one of the great midwest party institutions available to mankind. By 2025... there were 9,600 enrolled on a campus that's spiraled into complete shithole status, which is why nobody wants to go there anymore. @CenturyLink I’m not falling for this again. Nothing ever gets fixed. Even the pedastal in my yard is propped up by something I created because you all couldn’t be bothered to come out and fix it. I could literally cut the fiber to half my neighbors but you don’t seem concerned by that.

@1120bren @DanMyers These were the prices when they first went on sale. I got a text in Mid December the prices were dropping and got 2 center ice for NYE at $250. But I’m sure others like me had already punted with the initial costs.

@DanMyers I don’t think ticket prices were outrageous. I went to 5 games over the tournament and spent well under 250 bucks total.

RE: attendance… ticket prices for this entire tournament were OUTRAGEOUS and middle-class families were almost completely priced out. Want more butts in seats? Make the games more financially accessible for hockey families and average sports fans. It’s not hard.

@TannerBennet1 As part of ticket packs? Sure. Those were in the thousands. Individual tickets for “big games” were between $50 and $100, before fees and taxes. And parking (which at GCA, was NHL prices) and concessions (again, NHL prices). For JUNIOR HOCKEY. Too much competition here for that.

@SportsnetSpec I've gone to Czechia, Helsinki, travelled all over Canada for the WJC but I refused to go this year. Watching on tv and spending money at home. No thank you. Had an opportunity to go to Russia for the tournament as well, and refused to go there too.

Was told by a member of the MIN Wild traveling group that WJC organizers had banked on CDN tix sales - like prior WJCs in northern US states. That has not materialized - ya think? - now crowds are soft.

@thallb28 @SportsnetSpec She’s not wrong. Until recently the ticket prices were absurd. I live here and waited for this tournament to come to town for a long time. I had to pick and choose games because the session package costs were a joke when they came out.
