Led by the @ministry_gambia, with thanks to the EU’s financial support and opening remarks by the Minister, and in partnership with @UN_Disarmament, we organised the AAMVS WS with The Gambia, Ghana & Liberia. Officials, intl orgs & NGOs discussed arms control reporting & tools.

Co-chaired by @UN_Disarmament and @theGICHD, the 10th @theAMATeam Advisory Council explored how to translate the Global Framework on Ammunition into practice. AMAT continues to support the UN #SaferGuard Programme and states, providing operational and technical advice and service

Yesterday, at the EU COARM, our Head of Division presented plans to finalise and roll out AIMS/SIMS — strengthening states’ capacities in ammunition inventory management and surveillance in line with #IATG standards. We appreciate the EU’s continued collaboration and support.

This week in Kyiv, we co-organised the Ammunition Safety Management (ASM) Symposium with the MoD of #Ukraine. The Symposium reviewed the progress of measures advancing ASM transformation and immediate post-conflict risk reduction.

Today we presented at the Meeting of Experts of Protocol V on #ERW of the CCW, stressing that safe, secure and sustainable #ammunitionmanagement is essential to strengthening Protocol V implementation.

This week, we are in Kyiv for the workshop “Developing the Strategy and Action Plan on Preventing and Combatting Illicit Trafficking in Weapons, Their Parts, Ammunition and Explosives” to support development of the documents by providing guidance on #ammunitionmanagement.

As part of this week’s Regional Training in #Kyrgyzstan, participants visited the Engineering School demolition range for a live demolition session and EOD equipment presentation. A hands-on part of the joint training effort with @OSCE for safe and secure #ammunitionmanagement.

In partnership with the @OSCE, @theAMATeam is in #Kyrgyzstan this week, delivering expert support to the Regional Ammunition & Physical Security & Stockpile Management Training. The joint effort in strengthening cooperation for safe and secure #ammunitionmanagement.

In 2024, @theAMATeam ran a Training of Trainers on ammunition management in Peru. 13 instructors were trained (over a third women). Within a month, 5 had trained 83 military personnel. Local capacity, once nurtured, grows fast. More in our Annual Report👇 gichd.org/training-of-tr…
