Regarding the Moniepoint situation, I’ll be honest, there was a time I would have jumped on a Twitter Space and written threads breaking everything down. But these days, I’m choosing peace, especially on conversations like this. At the end of the day, everyone is speaking from their own reality and multiple truths can exist at once. Companies say there’s a shortage of talent. Talents are leaving because they feel the system doesn’t support global standards, whether in compensation or culture. At the same time, many HR teams aren’t fully aligned with the ecosystems they’re hiring from, which affects how they structure their processes. And then there’s the gap with junior talent, many companies hesitate to invest in them, yet still struggle to find experienced professionals. So really, everyone is right… just from different angles.

This is impressive and admirable of you. I am looking for remote job opportunities. Are you hiring?
Kevin Dahlstrom@Camp4

💰 The most fun I ever had negotiating a salary: Years ago, I hired a guy—I’ll call him J—to a junior marketing role. He was a bike mechanic with no relevant experience, but he had an engineer’s mind and was funny as heck. I asked J to call me to discuss compensation… When he called, I could tell he was nervous. This was a big deal for J—his wife had just given birth to their first child. I asked J what salary he thought was fair. He had prepared for this question: “Well, to leave my current career and support my family I’d need to make… $50,000.” I could tell J knew that number was a stretch for someone with no experience in an entry level position (this was ~2008). I paused for a few seconds before responding. Then I said: “J, I don’t think I can pay $50,000 for this role. I’m making a bet on you and we’re going to have to train you. Can I make a counter offer?” J responded eagerly: “I completely understand. I really want this job so I’ll take whatever you can offer.” Then I said, “How about $60,000?” Confused silence. After a few seconds, J said, voice cracking, “You have no idea how much this means to me.” 😭 J turned out to be a great hire and within three years he was making six figures. I’m pretty sure he would have taken a bullet for me. Here’s my point: When it comes to people—especially those with high potential—don’t bargain shop. You’ll only be negotiating against yourself. It’s not just about being generous, it’s good business. The ROI on good people, properly motivated, is tenfold.

Did you the late Abacha stole all that money? You underestimate the greed of the financial institutions of the west to collude in a crime for capital

NNPC just completed a pipeline crossing under the River Niger and most Nigerians don’t understand how big this is. OB3 pipeline now unlocks 2 billion cubic feet of gas per day. Two billion. Every single day. That gas powers electricity, factories, industries. Nigeria has always had the gas. The problem was never supply it was moving it from where it’s produced to where it’s needed. This pipeline connects East to West. That bottleneck just got removed. They already did the AKK crossing last year. Now OB3. Two river Niger crossings back to back. The gas grid is actually coming together. The target is 12 billion cubic feet per day by 2030. Right now we’re nowhere close. But infrastructure like this is how you get there. No infrastructure no industrialization. Simple. This is the kind of news that should trend. Not because it’s exciting but because your light bill depends on it.

You’re mixing the type of government a nation runs and the ethnic culture of the said nation. Does china have a communist government, the answer is yes. Please find attached

@theGabSky Capital did not flow into a communist govt. America does not put their capital in the hands of communist tyrants In communism, Americans won't go to China, make bread with that level of freedom and jet

Most people don’t need a general virtual assistant. They need someone who won’t break their website, leak customer data, or fumble the CRM. That’s what I do. Technical VA for operators who live online.

Capital flowed into a communist government. The issue is not what form of government is operated, it is the ideals and principles of the leaders of that nation . China continues to to employ capital and Human Resources for the benefit of its people in a way that won’t make sense
Joseph Brendan@Joe_brendan_

@theGabSky Communism or socialism did not build China. American capital and a focused leadership did

I disagree. Men generally are still the providers in the African home. If men take half of what they spend on responsibilities on investment, you will see a direct consequence on the women’s investments
oluwajuwonlo.@King_0lujuwon

@olumidecapital Women are better money managers to be fair. Men spend on frivolity a lot and we are intentional about providing for other people.

There is a kind of self-respect you only get from becoming able to do hard things well. No status game can replace it.
