I’ve recently been seeing sober posts on my timeline. At first I was kind of shocked, “how did X all of a sudden flood me with fellow sober people”. I think I liked someone’s post and commented about my length of time of sobriety. Either way, this past week I’ve been liking and commenting on many posts from fellow sober folks, no matter 1 week, 3 months or year milestones, I’m honored to be among so many who changed their lives. I’m not special, my story is wild and my sobriety came from an OD. A day I’ll never forget. For those that want to know “how” I got and stayed sober, know I am a stubborn son of an amazing mother. So, in short, was at a Kentucky Derby party, that particular day I was having a VERY hard time actually swallowing alcohol. Next thing I know I’m being resuscitated, when I “woke up”, I saw the faces of my loved ones. I couldn’t hear anything, but their faces are ingrained into my memory. The disappointment I felt in seeing their fear, from my mom crying to one of my brothers look of (potential) loss, is what keeps me sober now. I say all this to say, it does not matter how you got sober, or why you stay sober, just that you are and do. Not one of us is better than the next. I’m around people who drink and probably drug, but I’ve been living off water and coffee for 2,569 days now. “Baby steps” is how I managed in the beginning, the first few weeks for me I endured immense pain and discomfort. The level of what I was “doing” was so bad that detoxing, alone, not thru treatment or with medication, was grueling. My way is NOT the way I recommend anyone getting sober. I’m not a doctor, I know nothing. I’m just sharing MY story, and a very short version of it. But, every day, is a baby step to the next day. #KeepGoing #Sober

We sold a guy a bad batch of concrete. Plant wasn’t calibrated right, mix was too sandy. Didn’t finish well. Customer was (understandably) upset. I met with the customer and told him we would fix it. We will bust it out and re-pour it on our dime. The customer was so relieved when I told him that. I think he was expecting we would fight him on it or try to shift the blame to him. Sometimes you have to just eat a loss to make things right. That’s how I want to do business, and I know in the long run, we will continue to have customer loyalty because of this.

Hardest thing I did in my life. That nicotine really addicts you. I must have tried to quit maybe 100 times. Finally, I was successful.

@theTJSicilian @HenryMacAngus Exactly!! I wouldn’t touch one even to fight. I might get some new incurable disease. But we do have the right to be present. I do think they want us to do something so we look bad. You know how they are.

Indians are trying to trigger attacks so they can get their fraudulent visa that are expiring & being exposed converted to a permanent U Visa I think Class action lawsuit against the city of Frisco for promoting violence

@Amiejokes2much @HenryMacAngus I would go as far to say there won’t be a harmful Texan there wishing harm on anyone. They can hope in one hand and throw poop from the other, I doubt any of us would actually lay a finger on any of them. But we will show up in force and stand our ground. 🤷🏻‍♂️

@HenryMacAngus I wouldn’t expect anything less from them😒 And I agree…if these people think they can come here and be protected by our local law enforcement we’re going to have huge problems

Day 6 sober. Slept a little better last night. Not properly, but better than the previous few days. The anxiety is still here, especially in the mornings. I woke up, had tea, and just sat quietly for a long time, doing nothing. My mind still feels slow. Like it’s trying to restart after being overloaded for too long. I went outside for the first time in days today. Everything felt strangely distant. People moving normally, shops open, traffic, conversations… while my entire world right now is just medicines, recovery, cravings, sleep, food, and trying not to relapse. Appetite was slightly better today, but the taste is still off. One thing I noticed during withdrawal: you don’t even crave happiness in the beginning. You just crave feeling normal again. Still sober tonight. The reboot continues.
