@MatteoRomero15 @ATradCatholic @JosephJS777 I agree with what you’ve said here. Yet that doesn’t conflict with Sola Fide.
Artercay 🇺🇸@theWatchfulRook
@MatteoRomero15 @ATradCatholic @JosephJS777 No it doesn’t. Define Sola Fide.
English

@theWatchfulRook @ATradCatholic @JosephJS777 Because works are the expression of the faith itself (Galatians 5:6)
Also the good works come from God, which is the proof faith is genuine ( Ephesians 2:8-10) (James 2:18)
Faith without works is dead (James 2:26)
So were justified by faith but that faith MUST produce works.
English

Protestantism: ‘say the line and you’re saved’
Catholicism: actually live a life of repentance and grace
That’s why you don’t see it.
Stand For Life@Stand4Unborn
@ATradCatholic I notice I never read Catholics say, “I love seeing so many people repenting and accepting Jesus as their Savior.”
English

@theWatchfulRook @Rblv73 So using that definition, Catholics don’t pray to Mary.
Correct Christ is the only mediator between God and man.
English

@theWatchfulRook @ATradCatholic @JosephJS777 It does because Sola Fide assumes that you can have faith without works, and while works don’t justify us so no one should boast, faith must be accompanied by works. Because true faith produces works (which are the fruit of the Holy Spirit).
So should be Fide Prima not Sola Fide
English

@BennettBernard7 @Rblv73 I don’t define prayer as worship, scripture does.
So prayer to Mary is worship.
Prayer is directed to God alone.
Christ is the sole mediator.
English

@theWatchfulRook @Rblv73 If you define prayer as worship of God, Catholics don’t pray to Mary. If you define it as communication with those in heaven, then they do.
A statue isn’t an idol. It’s an image, just as a picture of your mom isn’t an idol.
Love sings to humans are common and not sin.
English

@dfziklag @RisingDisciples Yeah these are just more incoherent assertions.
I also never said Calvinism. Didn’t in my first comment nor any other.
Blanket assertions and straw men have no effect.
English

If Calvinism is true, God lied to Cain. If Calvinism is true, God lied to Abraham. If Calvinism is true, Joshua lied to Israel. If Calvinism is true, God lied to Hezekiah. If Calvinism is true, Jesus lied multiple times. If Calvinism is true, Paul lied. If Calvinism is true, Jesus never wept.
I don't think God lies, so I don't believe in Calvinism--not even if "the hair stands up on the back of my neck."
English

Calvinists constantly speak as if they aren't Calvinists
Why talk about "reaching" ANYONE when the precise numbers of the elect AND of the reprobate were predetermined before the world began?
And there are "false Christians" only because God DECREED there to be false Christians
Danny@Truth_matters20
Ain't that the truth! 💯
English

@dfziklag @RisingDisciples Assertion with no reinforcement is a dead one.
English

@theWatchfulRook @RisingDisciples The Scriptures cannot lead you to Calvinism because the Scriptures are contrary to Calvinism.
English

This is because the scripture is so clear. To read and compare passages… scripture interpreting scripture, you walk away with this understanding.
I did. I felt the draw of the Father to understand and the coming of my faith in Christ. Studied and compared, felt the Holy Spirit in my presence as my hair stood on end; and my heart being convicted as I was stunned by what I was reading and being illuminated to what He lead me to.
Months later is when I figured out the understanding I was lead into was Reformed thought. I didn’t even know a single principle of Reformed other than Sola Fide and Sola Scriptura.
English

@RisingDisciples Not only that, many are now claiming not to be Calvinist at all ... "I just believe what the Bible says, which is TULIP." It's nonsense...
English

@LJersey77 @McBrideLawNYC Born of water is baptism.
John 3:5
Jesus answered (Nicodemus), "Amen, amen, I say to you, no one can enter the kingdom of God without being born of water and Spirit.
John 3 is all about Baptism.
Acts 2:38 states that one must repent and be baptized for the forgiveness of sins,
English

To those entering the Catholic Church tonight:
The world will try to take this joy.
You will lose friends.
You will make enemies.
Because the world despises Jesus.
Before the world hated you, it hated
Him first.
And because you love Him,
the world will hate you too.
Have no fear.
Jesus has overcome the world.
I AM SO PROUD OF YOU!
WELCOME HOME!

English

@ATradCatholic @JosephJS777 Neither do you. Define Sola Fide.
English

@JosephJS777 You don’t even understand what you’re criticizing.
Confession requires repentance and a firm purpose to stop sinning. No Catholic teaching says ‘pray and keep sinning.’
You’re arguing against something you made up and calling it Catholicism.
English

The Bible lies about gods nature
SunnyOkie@SunnyOkie
@pimomormon Deut. 32:4: “He is the Rock, his works are perfect, and all his ways are just. A faithful God who does no wrong, upright and just is he.” Psalm 18:30: “As for God, his way is perfect: The Lord’s word is flawless; he shields all who take refuge in him.” Cry out while you still can
English

@pimomormon @SunnyOkie This isn’t even a response to what was said.
English

@pimomormon @SunnyOkie Both of those are not actually comparable.
“But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.”
1 Corinthians 2:14
English

@theWatchfulRook @SunnyOkie Doesn’t mean that it is. See also: Quran, Book of Mormon.
If I write a fictional book and claim that god told me to write it, doesn’t mean it’s true.
English

@theWatchfulRook @SunnyOkie It’s not authored by the spirit. It’s authored by man
English

@LordCollins__ @LeftyWinter I agree. There is no creation from them. Just inversion
English

@theWatchfulRook @LeftyWinter What the devil does is corrupt all that is good. The rainbow remains divine, the LGBTQ rainbow is a counterfeit. Rainbow has 7 colors, but the pride flag has 6. It’s not the same, just a mockery of the original.
English

Agreed.
The dragon is presented as holy and righteous. But ultimately when it speaks is corruption of what is actually righteous.
When Apostles evangelize its describes as tongues of fire.
Satan ultimately doesn’t create just inverts what is already God’s. Hence why the rainbow and promise now represents sexual immorality. God is Love and original sin of Satan is pride… so now Love is presently as Pride is one’s own sexual orientation.
Pro-abortionist even use the “This is my body” for their bodlily autonomy argument.
So the dragon in sheep’s clothing would be the one who claims to speaks holy words of fire… but really it’s just a fire breathing dragon.
The symbol of fire on the tongue becomes inverted.
This can be seen in genres of music like rap… where to well is to spit fire…
To be a goat is to be the greatest of all time…
To be a sheep is a following Christ, but now to be a sheep as negative connotations
The world itself seems to be backwards through Satan’s deception. Scripture acknowledges this in Isaiah 29:16…
And God flips the world amid judgement Isaiah 24:1
Then think of all the shows and movie Hollywood (self proclaimed Babylon) creates like Stranger Things with the Upside down… of Inception the world flips dreams within dreams.
The enemy is telling you. The dragon motif with breathing fire is the same.
English

I don’t think I fully understood your point. A “dragon in sheep’s clothing” is a powerful metaphor. The Bible uses the dragon to symbolize the devil and paganism. In Revelation, it also represents the Roman Empire, because Rome was — and in many ways still is — a fundamentally pagan power. Rome is what we now call Europe.
So when the Bible speaks of a “dragon in sheep’s clothing,” it describes an evil entity that disguises itself as something holy and righteous. The Papacy presents itself as saintly and pious, yet it embodies the dragon through its blasphemy and by doing everything the Bible explicitly condemns.
English

The dragon is sheep’s clothing aspect you point out I find interesting.
Acts 2 has the Apostles speak with tongues of fire as the evangelize and the Spirit speaks through them with Christ’s words. This fire would be a renewing flame that cleanses.
This would carry over to Saints (believers) as they evangelize with a tongue of flame.
The dragon motif would be an inversion of this. Where the person that claims absolute authority over Christ’s words would be the creature that breathes fires but fire is invert not as cleansing but of destruction.
Am I off?
