Before #CBAForAfrica26, I thought the music business was mostly about talent. Now I’m learning it’s also about community, storytelling, positioning, culture, and understanding people. The biggest lesson so far? Real growth happens when creative people build together, not alone.

There are days at CBA where I sit in class or on calls and feel like I somehow slipped in by mistake, like everyone else understands things faster, speaks more confidently, or just fits better. That quiet voice of imposter syndrome can get really loud in those moments.

Growth in the creative ecosystem isn’t just about talent or ambition, it’s about structure, discipline, collaboration, and constant learning. Before #CBAForAfrica26, I thought creativity ran on talent and visibility. Now I know: strategy, execution, and community matter just as much. One thing I’ve learnt from the CBA for AFRICA so far is that relationships move things just as much as talent does. A lot of people are trying to “blow”, but the people who really last understand community, consistency, timing, and positioning. #CBAForAfrica26 @cbaforafrica

As someone who loves music and has been intrigued by the music business from the outside I had a lot of uncertainty going into it ,little information and a sea of unanswered questions about how things really work in the music scene of Africa and Globally.

It’s been about 3 months in @cbaforafrica and it’s been months of learning and unlearning. Learning that what the music business should be like is quite different from what the music business is like in Nigeria, and I like that they’re training us for that. Because there’s….
