@thetimes Well if you want to inject yourself with lizard venom which freezes your stomach and has all sorts of side effects go ahead - I personally think eating unprocessed food and exercise is a better way to go.

As a doctor, I'd find this story fascinating but not convincing evidence. Alzheimer's disease causes progressive neurodegeneration, and no current data show that a single dose of psilocybin can reverse advanced dementia. Anecdotal reports can generate research hypotheses, but causation requires well-designed clinical trials. Until then, such claims should be viewed with cautious scientific skepticism.

Excellent news that TalkSPORT presenter Alan Brazil has survived an 8-hour liver transplant operation. I was surprised his breakfast show interview didn’t disclose it was his decades of excessive drinking that destroyed his liver and came close to taking his life. He won’t drink ever again as alcohol stops the meds from bedding in the new liver. Brazil, 66, hopes to be back on air in a month. My suggestion is that he moves to weekend breakfast as it needs help since that Scottish lady, who knows little about football, joined the show. I trust he uses his legendary position as a footballer and broadcaster to explain to his followers that he’s bloody lucky to be around ( his heart stopped on the operating table) and they should take note if they’re drinking like him. He mustn’t follow Dean Martin’s view; “ I feel sorry for people who don’t drink as that’s the best they’re going to feel all day.”
