Some people are saying what a jerk he is for not getting in line like everyone else, but a great many people are saying that the cars in the right lane merged into one lane too soon and that if they had used the left lane, instead of being a mile backup it would have been a half a mile backup. This is a random street in Yaba remaining flood-free even after heavy rainfall,not even a single puddle. showing the impact of proper drainage in the axis. However, the situation is very different across much of Lekki and the entire peninsula, where flooding occurs almost immediately after even the slightest drop of rain. The government needs to develop a standard drainage network across the entire Lekki Peninsula down to Epe, especially considering the rapid development and high cost of living in these areas. Though some mainland areas also require drainage rehabilitation, but many ongoing problems on the Island/peninsula are being worsened by drains that lead to no where and even abandoned drainage projects, such as those affecting residents around Mobile Road Ajah and Marina Estates. I sell cement at the market here in Abeokuta. A customer came to pay for 150 bags of cement, collected receipt and disappeared for over 4 months. Yesterday, he came back with trucks to carry the cement. He said he had been seriously sick since the day after he made payment, that’s why he couldn’t come earlier. I explained to him that the price of cement has increased since then and he needs to add more money before carrying the goods. I even offered to refund the exact amount he paid back then if he’s not comfortable. Omo, the man got angry immediately 😩 He said he’s not adding any money and he’s not collecting refund. According to him, “na the cement wey I pay for I wan carry.” He even threatened to drag me legally next week. 4 months is too much a time to keep his goods in my warehouse. He has to pay extra for the goods. He might not necessarily pay full price of the difference, but he needs to understand that the space his goods took could have been used to get more goods that you would have profited from.
