curious: if i told you i visited a church and someone matter of factly and calmly mentioned to everyone that they saw Jesus in a vision, and no one acted like it was weird - what kind of church would you guess it was, and would you personally see that as a good or bad thing

For example, if someone approaches the Bible materialistically, they will interpret your account of a vision in a materialist way and judge it on that axis. This may adversely affect them.

@tapir_worf sort of. there's always a reason, it just might not make sense to your frame of reference. but kids have very incomplete understandings of the world so their fears and concerns can be surprising.

Evolution sadly doesn't care about our feelings. Light skinned women with smaller waist to hip ratios will invariably be more attractive to men just as how tall men with means will be more attractive to women. Don't be pressed, it is what it is.
