Who else was lucky enough to see our Directors of Mischief and Mayhem in action today at Wee Write Festival? 👀

P5 had a wonderful time at the Wee Write Festival at the Mitchell Library. They had the opportunity to meet children’s author @abielphinstone ⭐️ They shared ideas and brainstormed elements of creative writing and also had the chance to ask lots of questions! 📚

Primary 6 enjoyed a fantastic trip to the Royal Concert Hall today to celebrate ten years of the much loved Wee Write Festival. The Beano event was full of fun and the children enthusiastically contributed ideas to create a new comic strip story. ✍️

The limit on how tall these things could be was the roof of the wearhouse.

Before I was drawing and writing for the Beano, I used to design and sculpt Christmas grottoes for shopping centres. This is polystyrene. You can walk around inside and it's six meters tall.

There's two sorts of comic art. The cartoony sort you see in the Beano and newspaper gags, that sort of thing. Non figurative? I've always been pretty pleased with my abilities in that sphere. I mean, look! I'm great at that, aren't I!? But...

I got a rare opportunity to write the script for Rubi in this week's Beano, in which Rubi and Pieface work out the circumference of a pie using pi in order to buy the right amount of ribbon for said pie. Art by @ElChisteDeMel Script by Me.

P4/5 have been working on the 'Bouncebackability' from Beano! The children are learning about their emotions and how to manage stress & difficult situations through drama, writing and lots of talking. We have all loved this piece of learning ❤️🖤 @BeanoOfficial
