We could run our 3000 acre farm for 11 years on one days fuel load for an A380 Airbus which is 320,000 litres We’d grow 33,000 tons of grain, 16500 lambs & 650 bales of wool with a days fuel for a big jet! Overstating the impact of meat distracts from the real culprits
Frank Mitloehner@GHGGuru

The statement that one meatless day per week is equivalent to not driving for 6 months is inaccurate and misleading in dangerous ways. It suggests that our main carbon emitting activity is meat eating and it de-emphasizes the use of fossil fuel activities such as driving.

Interested in “what kills birds”? Spoiler alert: wind mills are the least of our worries.

@dan_psyd @djspratt Thank you for this article I'm going to find much of it useful not least because it's a written form of stuff that makes sense to me. Might I suggest that because "nobody likes being told what to do" the removal of directives and imperatives would improve it further. 😉

So Australia’s all time national hottest day #climate record didn’t get broken yesterday, it got smashed. Tuesday at 40.9C broke previous record by 0.6C. But Wednesday 18 December upped it another full 1C to 41.9C. Mind-boggling that old record has been upped 1.6C in 2 days.

We were transfixed by the workings of a mole this frosty afternoon. One of our number claimed a nose sighting.

@RealBread Unlikely Lidl process their own flour for UK; they'd buy it in. Despite being a german company they can't sell german flour minus additives mandated in still extant post-WW2 UK law to deal with no longer existent child malnutrition. We must repeal an Act, not blame a supermarket

@jonathan_rees I too found it almost unbelievable - of course he has uhh 'apologised' and cited lack of 'context' but it's pretty clear where his bias is.

@hagenilda Thank you for this! Can we also add that majority of Gypsies and Travellers live in bricks and mortar (app. 80%); majority hide their ethnicity to avoid discrimination; and majority want their kids to stay in school but face many barriers i.e. bullying by pupils & teachers.
