Fans will probably be a bit miffed that VAR John Brooks intervened for a violent conduct red card for Lisandro Martinez for a bit of a hair pull.
But decided Gabriel pushing his forehead into Erling Haaland's face was "not excessively aggressive or violent".

Much will depend on what Anthony Taylor told the VAR he saw.
If the referee described it as we saw and chose a yellow, there's not much the VAR can do.
But that's a red for me.
Another case where the outcome is probably different had the opponent "played up" to it. #MCIARS

Issue here is that Haaland didn’t over-react - no red card 🟥 was shown. But 2 seasons ago, Fabian Schär was red carded and banned for 3 games after Saints’ Ben Brereton Diaz’s theatrics led to straight red. No VAR overturn. Players will sadly take note.

The red card of course isn't just about this game. Gabriel would be suspended for three of Arsenal's remaining five games. John Brooks, who is the VAR for pretty much every major game now, said "not excessively aggressive or violent".
