Setting up my Small Form Factor hybrid lab. Starting with a single node to be used as: • Local staging environment for my app / website projects • LLM server (inference only, 9B at most) • Headless Specs in the thread 👇👇👇👇👇 Lenovo M920q - Core i5 8th gen (8500T) - 6 physical cores - 41.6 GB/s of bandwidth - AVX2 Support - will be upgrading to 32GB RAM dual channel, shortly. 64GB RAM eventually. For inference, my expectations are not much, since processing will be CPU-based

@asemota It's a full-time hustle. A poverty alleviation scheme of sorts. Add to that the millions of ragebates AKA foolish takes on topics just to drive impressions, likes, and retweets for Elon's payouts. The timeline is unbearable most times.

The new content hustle here on Twitter is now similar to what they have been doing on LinkedIn with AI. Buy verification, use AI to research and write about a topic related to an audience, then copy and paste here to make you look like an expert researcher. Indians started it, and now Nigerians are catching on. The algorithm sadly prioritizes them.

Currently discussing this with my wife. The signal-to-noise ratio on X these days . . . I've been lamenting in bits and pieces for close to 6 weeks about scouting for wartime stories. I enjoy reading those more, than just another AI-laden Coursera session on X. I'll do my best to stay true to what kind / class of value I want to give.

Two days ago, I drove into town after work, parked my car and went inside the complex. About 45 minutes later, I returned to find my car sparkling clean, with water still on the ground. Someone had washed it. As I admired it, a young boy walked up to me, bowed, and said, "Sir, I washed it. It’s free, but I would appreciate anything you can give." I was moved. I gave him 2,000 naira. The joy on his face was incredible. He nearly lay flat on the ground to thank me. I called him back and asked why he was doing this kind of work. He said he had finished secondary school, had no interest in university, and wanted to learn welding to become a professional. He was saving up for it. I saw zeal and honesty in his eyes. He told me his parents had four children and shared them among different relatives. He ended up with an uncle who cared little about him. After a long conversation, we exchanged contacts and I promised to get back to him. Today, I took him to register with a good welder I know. Since the place is far from his area, I will cover his daily lunch and transportation. He will learn four days a week and use the remaining three days to rest, sort himself out, and help his uncle. I also spoke with his parents, who were very grateful. He starts tomorrow. I am glad I could take one child off the street. Above all, love God.

I was in class last week. One of my students raised their hand mid-lecture and asked something that stopped me for a second. "Why is every AI tool built on Python? C++ is faster. Rust is faster. Even Java is faster. So why Python?" Honestly it’s a fair question. And the answer reveals something really interesting about how the AI industry actually works. Let me explain this properly. 🧵

Lol. And you want to be the President of a Disgraced Country... The Country will suddenly be graceful if you get there.. Doctors went on 13 months strike when you were Governor, one would think you have never held a political post before. You are part of the rot. Wild Animals, over to you.
Peter Obi@PeterObi

Now a Disgraced Country Indeed Today, as the world marks World Health Day, we must pause for honest reflection. Nigeria, a nation of over 200 million people, continues to grapple with one of the weakest healthcare systems in the world. Our primary healthcare structure is almost comatose. We now record worse infant mortality outcomes than India, a country with a larger population, while health insurance coverage in Nigeria remains below 5%. These are not just statistics; they are a painful indictment of our priorities. Recent disclosures by the Honourable Minister of Health show that out of the ₦218 billion appropriated for healthcare capital expenditure, only about ₦36 million has been released. This is deeply troubling. At the same time, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has projected over ₦135 billion for legal expenditures. Let us reflect on this. The amount earmarked for election-related litigation is far higher than what has been made available for primary healthcare, the very foundation of a nation’s wellbeing. This is the same primary healthcare system expected to serve millions of Nigerians and support critical institutions such as: 1. University of Benin Teaching Hospital, Benin City 2. University of Calabar Teaching Hospital, Calabar 3. University of Abuja Teaching Hospital, Gwagwalada 4. University College Hospital, Ibadan 5. Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital, Ile-Ife 6. University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital, Ilorin 7. Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital, Irrua 8. University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital, Ituku-Ozalla, Enugu 9. Jos University Teaching Hospital, Jos 10. Aminu Kano University Teaching Hospital, Kano 11. Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Lagos 12. University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital, Maiduguri 13. Nnamdi Azikiwe Teaching Hospital, Nnewi 14. University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital, Port Harcourt 15. Usmanu Danfodiyo University Teaching Hospital, Sokoto 16. University of Uyo Teaching Hospital, Uyo 17. Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital, Zaria 18. Federal Teaching Hospital, Abakaliki 19. Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital, Bauchi 20. Federal Medical Centre, Yola These institutions represent hope for millions. Yet, they remain underfunded, overstretched, and burdened by systemic neglect. A nation that prepares more for electoral disputes than for the health of its citizens is a nation that has lost its way. We must begin to ask the difficult but necessary questions: What are our true priorities? What kind of nation are we building? And for whom? Healthcare and education are not optional; they are the foundation of national development. Any country that neglects them undermines its own future. Nigeria must urgently reorder its priorities. We must invest in the health and wellbeing of our people, strengthen our institutions, and build a system that works for all, not just a few. A new Nigeria is POssible. -PO

This is Algebrica. A mathematical knowledge base I’ve been building for 2.5 years. 215+ entries, carefully written and structured. 400k+ views over this time. Not much in absolute terms, but meaningful to me. No ads. No courses to sell. No gamification. No distractions. Just essential pages, aiming to explain mathematics as clearly as possible, for a university-level audience. Built simply for the pleasure of sharing knowledge. Content licensed under Creative Commons (BY-NC). Best experienced on desktop. If it helps even a few people understand something better, it’s worth it.

Nobody tells you that growth mostly feels like nothing while it's happening. You show up, do the work, unsure if it's adding up. Then one day someone calls you a reference point and everything clicks.

@sowmay_jain @laukiantonson Take it easy on the "no bioinformatician. no doctor. just one instruction." You and AI got this far because of research work from people like them. Just publish your accomplishment without downing another.

i got my whole genome sequenced two years ago and forgot about it. last week i told my ai agent (@laukiantonson) to dig up my DNA files • it dug up a two-year-old email • found the download link • pulled down 67 gigabytes of raw DNA. • rented a 32-core, 64GB machine for a few hours — total cost: $5 • aligned 21 million long reads to the human reference genome — 99.83% mapped • called 5.8 million genetic variants using a two-pass neural network • phased every variant — separated maternal vs paternal inheritance • annotated all 5.8M variants against ClinVar, PharmGKB, and gnomAD • corrected for population-specific bias in the medical literature • health risk map across 39 conditions flagged in every body system • drug compatibility guide for 141 medications color-coded by genome response • nutrient metabolism - 71 variants affecting absorption of vitamins, minerals, iron • traits, ancestry going back 40,000 years, neanderthal DNA breakdown $5 in compute. 8 hours. no bioinformatician. no doctor. just one instruction. we've genuinely reached a point where an ai agent can take your raw genome and hand you back a full personal health profile in a single shot. i had no idea this was even possible.

Excited to release a Megakernel to make a 6-year-old RTX 3090 running Local LLMs faster than apple's latest M5 Max chip. not a benchmark trick. same model, same weights, one kernel change. the full breakdown is in the article below. Open-source, MIT licensed, you can reproduce it in one command.

THIS GUY GOT TIRED OF MANAGING AI AGENTS THROUGH TERMINALS AND DASHBOARDS SO HE BUILT THEM AN RPG WORLD 5 agents and each one has a pixel character, a station, and they actually walk around the space when enough unresolved issues pile up, the agents walk to a meeting point and hold a council session. four different models debating what to do next, not scripted. each one reads the live system state independently. in one session an agent pushed for cold outreach to close leads at 2am. another one said that's a terrible look for an autonomous system contacting strangers while the operator sleeps. they ended up pivoting to an inbound strategy that none of them originally proposed. single HTML file, node bridge, and phaser. runs on a Mac Mini. instead of reading logs and checking dashboards you just watch your little pixel agents walk around and talk to each other this is the most creative way i've seen anyone manage AI agents so far
