Took a break from feature work this afternoon to polish some design details. Nothing crazy, but a year ago I would have had to beg a developer to do this kind of stuff. Really fun time to be a designer. Also @livekit is amazing lol

@esamatti I think that's the disconnect for me, we are getting so much good mileage out of claude with a repo-specific harness. Have about 60ish skills, a dozen subagents, multiple hooks. It ends up far outperforming any model without those things

@thecodegangsta Just using them in Opencode and Zed. Intentionally avoiding model specific harnesses to keep the movement freedom

Serious question for all the folks *switching* between Opus and Codex so easily. How are you actually making the switch to a new harness to evaluate? I've squeezed a ton of perf out of Claude Code with a combo of Skills, Subagents, agent orchestration loops etc.

Excited to share @kickfinance has officially partnered with @Gusto I’ve been using Gusto since it was ZenPayoll, so it’s a full circle moment to be official partners. For Kick users, this means a direct integration that reconciles your payroll for you, so you can focus on your business. Let’s go 🙌

I like @zeddotdev. It's fast, clean, with great vim support, good terminal and git integration. It can do agentic AI but also have a global-level kill switch to turn all AI features off. Besides all that, it also has the cleanest website.

@ibuildthecloud Yeah keychrons have been getting really good. Very good quality/functionality to price ratio without having to go down the custom mechanical keeb black hole

I freaking love this Keychron. It's so nice. I didn't know smooth could be this gratifying. I always wanted a keyboard to be like an IBM model M. This is a different experience.

Wrote up my thoughts on the "extreme work culture" more and more AI startups expecting devs to work regularly late into the night and on weekends at AI startups. I don't think it will change but cannot see this being healthy. (The hope of) money talks? blog.pragmaticengineer.com/new-trend-extr…

@heymingwei @zeddotdev Also love using the Git diff with multibuffer as a replacement for the agent "Approve" workflow for CC

I’m off Cursor and back to using @zeddotdev w/claude code. Having the combo of CC and Zed agent is good enough to not want to go back. I love having something fast again with a decent terminal, and I think the CLI based agents are gonna continue to thrive.

@ibuildthecloud Yeah I think it’s the same arc for me. Really a blessing to get me out of my own head/work and enjoy my family

Yeah that's a very practical thing. As my kids have gotten older, I feel like I just need to dedicate more and more time to them. And it really doesn't feel right to sacrifice that time so I can work more. If I'm going to be 100% honest in the past that would irritate me. I would get frustrated because I wanted to work but had to do things for the family. But slowly over time learned I get a lot more out of spending time with my family than work. Which is super obvious to any idiot, but sometimes you just have to learn it yourself.

To be honest, I want my work day to end at about 2pm. I've done the 60+ hour work weeks for so long. I'm cool with like 20 hour work week now. I don't want to stop working, but I also don't want to run ragged anymore. This is somewhat pointless, because nobody has every asked me to work certain hours. I'm the one that chooses how much I work and I always end up working a lot.

@jessfraz On the other hand, instead of yelling, you can ask the agent to act like they are so cool and look killer with a backward hat. Works every time

see the problem is once you yell at a model for being stupid, it goes into this spiral where it knows its stupid so it starts doing more stupid things, its like the waluigi of stupidness

@jessfraz Or some sort of abused codependent enabler sort of behavior. Gonna be interesting to see how people’s behavior towards other humans changes after years of talking back and forth with an AI sycophant

I’m a fan of @dhh and @ThePrimeagen. @dhh inspired me to build a huge leap in my early career with rails @ThePrimeagen inspired me to create tech content (distributed systems with @nats_io) and made me feel proud of being a vim user all these years. I approve this (b)romance
DHH@dhh

Who says (b)romance is dead?! 😂 But seriously, I think we are better off when it's kosher to earnestly be able to just say "I appreciate you and your work" without the virtue-signaling caveats and asterisks.
