Unfortunately, I have discovered more proof that The Krazy Ken Curse is real…
About a week ago my Apple MagSafe Duo charger died. I was surprised because it was only 4 and a half years old, and the Apple products I own usually last way longer than that. I even thought to myself, “Wow, that charger died in less than 5 years? My MacBook Pro is 12 and a half years old and it’s still working!”
Bad idea! The Krazy Ken Curse was listening; it’s always listening. A week later, my MacBook Pro stopped charging. Coincidence? I think NOT!!!
Anyway! I’ll peek inside this computer and see if I can find the issue. The battery was already replaced once before, but maybe it needs to be replaced again? We’ll see!
I’ll probably need to call my buddies at MACnician who I trust with Mac repair. Brian, the founder and president of MACnician, is the one who sold me the 20th Anniversary Macintosh, too!
In the meantime, the Mac works fine when plugged into power with Windows, but in macOS it’s constantly throttling because the OS thinks the battery is about to die. Basically, the low performance makes the system almost unusable.
Stay tuned for an update. I’m sure we can save this Mac.
