The level of World Cup depends on the opposition. Ronaldo was good enough to score against Uzbekistan. And I'm sure he'd have scored more if he faced more teams like that. For example, Algeria, Egypt, Cabo Verde, Jordan, just to name a few...

🚨🚨🎙️| Ronaldo Nazário on Cristiano Ronaldo: “Maybe he still has the level to play in Saudi Arabia, but to compete in a World Cup, we realize that it is much more difficult, the level is much higher.” “Despite our passion, our love of football and our desire to play forever, I think it is finally the body that decides for us.” [@ESPNBrasil]

Did Maradona choose his own country? No, yet he single-handedly dragged an average Argentina side to World Cup glory in 1986, creating magic with teammates who were far from world-beaters. Did Pelé have a superteam around him in his prime years? Not always, but his genius still lifted Brazil to multiple World Cups. Legends like George Best, Eusébio, and Johan Cruyff turned modest national teams into global threats through sheer brilliance and willpower. They didn’t wait for perfect squads. Now look at the new generation. Modrić and Rakitić took a small Croatia to the World Cup final. Haaland is already carrying Norway deep into tournaments. Even players like Mbappé are elevating France while shining individually. These guys show that true greatness doesn’t always need a galaxy of stars around you. It creates its own light. When will we stop making excuses? Cristiano Ronaldo has been playing with some of the best midfielders and attackers in Europe for years. A 41-year-old still starting full matches for Portugal is not the flex some think it is. The facts remain: the greatest players find a way to win the biggest trophy no matter the support. Excuses won’t change history. The present Portuguese team is clearly better than the current Argentina side. Almost all of them are world-class players, with several having just won the Champions League back to back. Ronaldo truly has no excuses left for not winning the World Cup with this level of talent around him.
Mr Bayo@mrbayoa1

Some players are privileged to play in teams full of winners under great coaches. Even 10 world cups can’t redefine the GOAT because You don’t choose your country, it chooses you. But you do choose the club you represent. Cristiano Ronaldo. The Undisputed 🐐

Two similar fouls. Two different decisions. If Argentina's second goal against England was allowed, why was their second goal against Egypt disallowed? This World Cup looks rigged in Argentina's favor. 🤔

I stormed on this article on Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi I want you to read it, it's another angle entirely I picked this part from it "When Messi lost finals, and he lost several, badly, in ways that seemed to break him, he didn’t disappear quietly. He threw tantrums. He cried in front of the cameras. "He threatened to quit. And the people around him came to him every time. What do you need? Come back. We’re still here "That’s a man who grew up knowing that love doesn’t leave when you fail. He could fall apart because he had always been caught." "Ronaldo, when he loses, goes inward. He blames himself when it goes wrong. He credits himself when it goes right. "He expects everyone else to run the same internal economy. And that expectation, formed in a household where a child had to be the engine of his own family’s survival, is both the source of everything he achieved and the wall he keeps running into"

I am a Ronaldo fan My argument is simple: I value longevity, adaptation, individual responsibility, elite-level performance across different environments, big-game scoring, physical transformation, and the ability to remain decisive for an extraordinary length of time. Ronaldo has: • More career goals. • More Champions League goals. • More Champions League knockout goals. • More Champions League titles as the main attacking superstar of his team. • More international goals. • More international appearances. • More hat-tricks. • More goals with his weaker foot. • More headed goals. • More goals outside the penalty box. • A remarkable record of succeeding in multiple leagues and countries. He was a superstar in England, Spain, Italy and Portugal. He changed his game completely as he aged: winger, explosive dribbler, inside forward, devastating goalscorer, penalty-box striker. The fact that he could become arguably the greatest goalscorer in football history after losing some of the physical qualities that made him famous is one of the most impressive things about his career. And then there is the Champions League. Messi is an incredible footballer and arguably the greatest natural playmaker ever. But Ronaldo's Champions League résumé is ridiculous. He is the competition's all-time leading scorer and has repeatedly produced his best football in the biggest knockout games. When the question is: "Who do I want when everything is on the line?" Ronaldo's case is extremely strong. Messi's supporters also cannot selectively use international football. Before 2021, Messi had lost the 2014 World Cup final and the 2015 and 2016 Copa América finals. After the 2016 Copa América final, he even announced his retirement from international football before returning. That doesn't erase what he eventually achieved. The Copa América and World Cup absolutely count. But the earlier failures and the emotional pressure surrounding Argentina are part of the story too. And yes, Messi's PSG period deserves criticism. He joined a team with Neymar and Mbappé and PSG still failed to win the Champions League. Messi won Ligue 1, but his overall PSG spell was nowhere near the level expected from a player regarded as the greatest ever. Ronaldo, by contrast, went to Juventus at 33, won the league twice, became the club's top scorer in his first season, and continued producing at an elite level in a new league. The argument is not that Messi is bad. That would be stupid. The argument is that Ronaldo's greatness is more difficult to replicate. Messi is probably the better pure playmaker. Ronaldo is the greater scorer, competitor, physical phenomenon, big-game goalscorer and example of sustained individual excellence across different environments. So when people say, "Messi is obviously better and there is no debate," I totally disagree. There is absolutely a debate. Cristiano Ronaldo has one of the strongest GOAT cases football has ever seen. You'll never make it look like the World Cup is the decider. In a game where it's a WIN or GO HOME under intense pressure. Yesterday, Today and Forever MY ANSWER WILL ALWAYS BE RONALDO!

You see your last line was on of the reason I became a Messi fan in 2015/16 I watched his greatness and deliberately didn’t accept it because I wanted to love Ronaldo One of the reasons I changed was coz I loved playing football ball, growing into the game and loving it more, man I can’t continue to deny the greatness

The World Cup is not why Messi is the greatest of all time. The way Messi plays is why he is the greatest player of all time. No player, dead or alive, understands and plays football better than Lionel Messi. To argue otherwise is to be deliberately dishonest.
Shola 👑@itsSh0la

If you think Messi is the greatest of all time just because of the World Cup that a lot of people who aren’t even considered to be great have, then it just shows that you know nothing. You can be great without having a World Cup to your name, and that’s fine.

I’m tired of seeing people say “I love Ronaldo, but let’s agree Messi is the GOAT of football.” Just shut up! You can’t serve two gods. If you’re only now deciding who the GOAT is because Messi is performing well, then you never loved Ronaldo in the first place. In their prime you should have easily made the decision, not now because Messi is performing well Both are great but Ronaldo will always remain the GOAT of football. 🐐

Just so you know Football didn’t start yesterday or at this World Cup.. You think Ronaldo being greater than Messi is being delusional?? Let’s analyze something… Messi is 39 years and Ronaldo is 41 years As of 39 years.. ✅Ronaldo has 35 league goals and 51 goals in all comps(the highest in Europe) and ❌Messi has just 12 league goals this season ✅Ronaldo Won the Nations league at age 39 scoring the equalizer that led them to extra time.. and ❌ Messi is already wasting in mls at age 39 Ronaldo is simply the greatest of all time because he dominated the premier league Laliga and Seria A, Messi only successful career was in Barcelona and wasted at PSG Do you still think Messi is the greatest of all time??
Adika@Adikastakes

If you can be delusional about your life as Ronaldo fans are delusional about Ronaldo being the GOAT, you’ll 100% be successful in life. Ronaldo fans’ mentality is the key to success in life.

Recency bias over a man that won all his ucl before the other one could 3pt Won 4 back to back ballon d’or Won golden boy Was considered the GOAT already at 23 You are acting like Messi just started being good??
SPY@spyderrmann

Wallahi this is why I hate recency bias . Ronaldo 3pt the UCL right infront of your eyes (while being the highest goal scorer in all) Won his first international trophy while the other guy retired All of a sudden all that is forgotten now ??
