I think I actually like that you can't kill the creatures. I don't really care about the devs reason tbh. I think their reasoning is silly given that you're on a hostile planet. But for me, it increases the thalassophobia feeling. I remember in Subnautica Below Zero, towards the end, the leviathans were easily countered. It was such a disappointment and invoked little to no fear. Fearing many of the creatures because I have little choice but to be very careful in certain areas made this game so much more fun.

Great job invoking thalassophobia in @Subnautica again. This is a vast improvement from Below Zero. Well done.

Didn't Bun's bundler previously leak Anthropic's source code? Now there's a port over to Rust of 1,000,000 lines of AI generated code in 6 days? That's obviously not getting reviewed thoroughly. For those who put their trust in Bun for core apps, you might want to switch...

@yegor256 So a slot-machine version of GraphQL? You know what, I'd actually love to see the damage this does. Send it.

RESTful APIs may be dead soon. Instead, web services may expose a single POST entry point for a prompt. Internally, an AI agent may decide how to interpret it and what to do with the data and the database.

@Alykkat Yes - but Twitch is gatekeeping monetization here. Lol. People don't get paid. There's no reason these features should be locked behind a paywall.

You’re still an affiliate or partner. And you still achieved your status and success. Gate keeping monetization is not it. Let’s all aim to lower barriers for folks & not pull the ladder up behind us.
Jaku 🐀🐀🐀🐀@Jaku

If your reaction to this is anything but positive, I genuinely don’t get it. This doesn’t make Affiliate or Partner "worthless," and it doesn’t take anything away from people who earned those milestones. We have enough negativity in this space, don’t add to it for no reason.

@Pirat_Nation If management is going to shove AI slop workflows down their employees' throats, many of whom are getting burned out from this, I fully support this. I hope they crush their old scores on the leaderboard this month.

Amazon employees are using the company’s internal AI agent platform, MeshClaw, to run unnecessary tasks. They are doing this to inflate their AI token usage, climb internal leaderboards, and signal strong adoption to managers. Amazon set targets requiring more than 80% of devs to use AI tools each week and began tracking token consumption on company-wide leaderboards. In response, some staff have started what is being called “tokenmaxxing” deliberately maximizing AI usage on low-value or pointless activities to improve their standing. MeshClaw allows employees to create AI agents that can handle emails, Slack messages, code deployments, and other workflows. While the tool was built to reduce repetitive work it is now also being used to generate artificial activity. Amazon has told staff that these usage statistics will not be used in performance reviews. However, employees report feeling significant pressure, with managers reportedly monitoring the data despite official guidance.

@ryancarson Ohh, I remember how you tanked Treehouse's reputation during your exit. You had a lot of great employees that actually believed in you. You stopped caring about developers WAY before generative AI took off. It's a shame to see you becoming nothing more than a grifter.

GitLab announced a layoff today. Please take this seriously. There will be many, many more. Your assignment is clear: Get skilled with agents and practice shipping to prod. It doesn't matter if you're HR, eng, infra, customer success, admin, ops, sales, whatever. As a Founder/CEO, I can tell you that I won't be hiring any employees who aren't really skilled with agents and able to ship to prod. I'm not alone in this. There is no 'engineering' org in the future.

You're likely to see layoffs throughout 2026. Brace yourselves. If your job pays the bills and is bearable, keep it. If you're expecting to land your first developer job this year, it's not impossible, but I wouldn't bet my entire savings on it for the average person. At the very least, pick up a part time job to extend that savings. I'm not going to provide financial advice, but for me personal, I'm going to be pretty frugal the rest of the year. I don't think we've seen the worst of it. I hope I'm wrong.

@thedonofcode Hello freshman in college in the fall as of right, now I see that a engineer job is very very competitive and challenging to get. My goal is and still is to be that good where I’m a liability to lose that was aways the goal before all this news I know I am capable

Companies are laying off people because they're broke, not because AI is making them more efficient. If you've been laid off, this is likely not a "you" problem. This does not necessarily mean you're underperforming and it ESPECIALLY does not mean that you aren't valuable. Confidence and persistence will go a long way without helping you rebound from layoffs. Don't let companies take that away from you as well.

@Awk20000 Didn't she just say she didn't want to play a game involved with generative AI? She didn't trash the company for using it. She just didn't like the dishonesty. It seems like it's the complete degen crowd that's crashing out over stuff like this.

Asmongold comments on the NTE AI drama Says AI is inevitable, already being used by people via YT, Twitter, etc and wants to circle back in a few years to those same content creators complaining "AI is going to be used with everything..there's not going to be a company that's not using AI..YouTube uses AI in their transcript, subtitles, everything like that..ppl that are basically fishes complaining about water..reality is..we're totally surrounded by AI" "If ur using Twitter..ur info and what ur typing..being directly fed into grok..nothing u can do to get away from it..drawing these imaginary lines about AI doesn't make a lot of sense..how can u have a platform and an internet presence on a platform that basically is being used for AI generation" "This is what I want..a list of every creator that's going to virtue signal about how bad AI is and I want to wait 5 years, 3 years..when Twitch integrates AI..and other things integrate AI..I want to ask them, is AI good now?..they are more than willing to say this is bad when it is of no cost to them"
