I think you miss a vital perspective; the Gulf States I think it cannot be neglected that th Gulf is going to be far worse than where Trump left it for no reason other than having hosted US military bases. I think there will be tremendous suspicion and doubts about America’s motives and trustworthiness. Obviously, whether or not Trump and America, writ large, cares about this shift in perspective is a different story. But it certainly leaves the Middle East a lot more vulnerable, more filled with tensions amongst neighbouring states and overall a net negative outcome for having placed its faith in the West.

This could be the offramp the world needs. You can think of it as the best outcome for everyone, under the circumstances. (1) From MAGA’s perspective, if Trump declares victory here and moves on, the US won’t waste yet more blood and treasure in the Middle East. It won’t invade Iran. It also won’t take all the blame for the ongoing global supply chain crisis. It just pulls out and lets everyone work out the regional security equation for themselves. Trump can say he’s fulfilled both his campaign promises: stop Iran from getting a nuke, but also no endless Middle Eastern wars. (2) From Israel’s perspective, Iran has now been shown to be quite hostile to its neighbors, and its military has been substantially degraded. Stopping now is good. Otherwise there’s a danger of overreacting to Oct 7 as Americans overreacted to Sept 11. Israel can stand back and call it a win, because after a US pullout, Iran will have much less excuse for holding the Strait hostage. (3) From the Iranian diaspora’s perspective, it’s unfortunately clear that the current war isn’t going to result in liberalization. Further attacks would push Iran further into fundamentalism, making it even harder to eventually do a liberal reformation. (4) From the long-suffering Iranian people’s perspective, ending the war now would also save countless lives. Otherwise they’ll get hit by friendly fire and drafted by the regime to fight for fundamentalism. (5) Finally, from the world’s perspective, once the US declares victory and goes home, substantial diplomatic pressure will be applied to Iran to simply open the Strait of Hormuz and allow ships through. Iran’s leadership has shown, perhaps surprisingly, that they care about global public opinion…and they would be on the hook for the suffering of billions of people if the Strait remains blocked. TLDR: if Trump declares victory and leaves, Iran no longer has any excuse for blocking the Strait and holding the global economy hostage. Let the matter be worked out diplomatically with pressure from all the 100+ affected countries on Iran. America shouldn’t have to spend a single cent more, or send a single soldier more, to the Middle East.
The White House@WhiteHouse

“All of those countries that can’t get jet fuel because of the Strait of Hormuz, like the United Kingdom, which refused to get involved in the decapitation of Iran, I have a suggestion for you…” - President Donald J. Trump

@MarioNawfal The question is why’d you repost it without verifying? Are you really that desperate for views that you’ll post clickbait and tarnish a nation showing constant restraint and asking for peace?

Something very bizarre just happened The Jerusalem Post claimed the UAE struck Iran. And not any target, but a desalination plant If true (which it isn't), Iran may decide to retaliate, and may also target an Emirati desalination plant Gulf nations depend on these desalination plants for their supply of fresh water A UAE official just denied those claims, But the question remains: Why did the Jerusalem Post make such an outlandish claim without verifying? Claims like this are what could turn this war into a regional war. And only one country benefits from this...
Mario Nawfal@MarioNawfal

There's been a lot of talk in recent days of Gulf nations joining the war on Iran Today, news outlets began claiming that the lines was crossed and the UAE bombed Iran, specifically a desalination plant (which would be wild) Thankfully, the UAE has just denied these claims I hope Gulf nations show restraint and do not get dragged into this war Things keep getting worse as the war drags on...

Feeling really nervous right now in Dubai with everything going on. The uncertainty is tough, but learning more about what’s actually defending us helps calm my mind a bit. Sharing what I’ve found on UAE’s air defense systems – it’s seriously impressive and giving me some peace. 🛡️ #UAE #Dubai 2/6 UAE has one of the most advanced layered air & missile defense setups in the world for threats like this (Iran’s ballistic missiles + drones). Key player: THAAD (Terminal High Altitude Area Defense) – UAE was the first non-US country to get it operational years ago. 3/6 THAAD is built exactly for high-speed, high-altitude ballistic missiles (what Iran is mainly using). It intercepts them in the final phase, up to 150 km altitude, using pure kinetic hit-to-kill (no explosion, just direct impact). MoD says it’s intercepting with “high efficiency” – hundreds of missiles/drones handled so far. 4/6 Backed by Patriot PAC-3 for medium/lower threats, Pantsir-S1 for low-flying drones, and other layers (Cheongung II, Barak, EDGE indigenous tech). It’s the same systems the US uses/deploys here at bases like Al Dhafra. Real-time performance: most threats destroyed mid-air, damage mostly from debris only. 5/6 No system is 100% (debris is the main risk right now), but this is state-of-the-art for ballistic barrages – proven in combat against similar threats (Houthi, now this). UAE MoD keeps saying “under control” and “full readiness.” Knowing we have this shield helps me breathe a little easier. 6/6 Still sheltering in the basement of my building (Golden Mile 7) as advised by NCEMA/MOI – away from windows, staying low. If you’re in Dubai, stay safe and follow official alerts only. Hoping for calm soon. Thoughts/prayers for everyone affected. 🇦🇪❤️ #StaySafeDubai

🚨🇦🇪🇮🇷 Emergency alert going out to every phone in Abu Dhabi and Dubai right now. "Potential missile threat. Seek immediate shelter. Stay away from windows, doors and open areas." From the Ministry of Interior. The UAE has never sent an alert like this before. That fact alone tells you everything about tonight.

For years, the UAE has ranked among the safest countries globally built on strict rule of law, advanced defense systems, rapid response capabilities, and zero tolerance for extremism. Recent events prove why that matters. Threats were intercepted, institutions acted immediately, and stability was maintained.🇦🇪

The world’s most advanced city couldn’t even intercept a single drone, and their top premium hotel & infrastructures were bombed . What’s the point of building so many skyscrapers and ultra-modern infrastructure if there is no safety at all? Dubai has been badly exposed. The Middle East is a hostile region, and the UAE is not safe either. Some people in India who spend the entire day criticizing the country should feel proud that they live in a safe nuclear-powered nation. Otherwise, they would have to criticize India while hiding inside bunkers .

Tbh; I don’t see anyone normalising this as an everyday tragedy. Simply reading about this story in brief snippets sent chills down my spine and flooded me with outrage. Nobody’s daughter or sister deserves to die in such a horrific way. To answer your question; if the wife had done the same instead of the husband, I’d have said the exact same thing I said: “that’s a shitty human being” However, trying to pit this as a men’s vs women’s issue seems incredibly clickbaity to me, almost like you’re trying to farm views out of a tragedy to test an agenda. Call out shitty human behavior as shitty human behavior instead of weaponising someone’s grief to fit your own views and outrage 🤷

If the wife had killed the husband and sent messages to 4-5 men saying “I killed my husband for you”, the whole country would be baying for her blood. But somehow those same people are normalising this as an everyday tragedy.

Personally speaking; I’ve known of “love marriage” couples who were in 10+ year relationships and couldn’t make it through a month of marriage And I’ve known “arranged marriage” couples who said yes to each other within hours of meeting and have been happily married for over a decade. The time you’ve spent getting to know someone I think is irrelevant. It’s the willingness to compromise and make things work which defines a successful marriage. That sort of thing is difficult to find nowadays. Perhaps the arranged marriage crew is able to spot it a lot sooner than they were able to even in relationships, just a thoughts

With the shaadi season going on, i see people getting into arranged marriages and i am very curious to know something For people who have never dated, it makes sense but for people who have tasted the joy of being in a relationship where you slowly grow your relationship, isn’t it scary to just get married in an arranged setup?! Commit fully so fast without knowing the other person as much as you would know them if you were dating?!?
