There's a double negative in the way he frames it. He warns us that he's going to bluff his way out of it, then the bluff itself is a denial framed in sarcasm. It seems like he's encouraging us to assume that the opposite of whatever he says must be true, but without actually confirming anything. Seems like a set up for a "pulling the rug from under your feet" plot twist and character revelation concerning someone else.
