Now that Trump has called on Pakistan (among others) to join the Abraham accords, it’s a good time to re-up my recent column on how pathological hatred of Israel holds Pakistan back.
The Wall Street Journal@WSJ

From @WSJopinion: Hatred of Israel holds Pakistan back. A country obsessed with the Jewish state is usually a country that is unable to get its own act together, writes @dhume. on.wsj.com/4cogcXm

I wonder who wrote Trump’s post. The leader of the assembly is nowhere to be found in his post. Instead, he only names his favourite and wrote down his entire name that is used in Pakistan by the zealots. This is some sort of a psyop. Some people IN 🇵🇰 are washing their hands while someone is getting dirty in the mud

🚨 Trump demands Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Turkey, Egypt, Jordan, Pakistan sign Abraham Accords as condition of Iran deal President Trump posted on Truth Social Monday demanding that all countries involved in Iran negotiations simultaneously sign the Abraham Accords, describing it as a prerequisite for any deal and warning those who refuse would be excluded from the agreement. “It should be mandatory that all of these Countries, at a minimum, simultaneously, sign onto the Abraham Accords,” Trump wrote, naming Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Pakistan, Turkey, Egypt, Jordan, and Bahrain as targets. The UAE and Bahrain are already members. 🔸Trump warned: “If they don’t, they should not be part of this Deal in that it shows bad intention.” 🔸He said it “should start with the immediate signing by Saudi Arabia and Qatar, and everybody else should follow suit.” 🔸He also dangled Iran’s own potential membership, writing: “If Iran signs its Agreement with me… it would be an Honor to have them also be part of this unparalleled World Coalition.” 🔹The Abraham Accords, brokered during Trump’s first term, normalized relations between Israel and the UAE, Bahrain, Morocco, and Kazakhstan. Trump’s demand would require the mediating countries to recognize Israel and normalize relations as a condition of ending the Iran war — a significant ask given that Saudi Arabia has publicly conditioned any normalization on a credible and irreversible path to Palestinian statehood, a position shared in various forms by Turkey, Egypt, and others on the list. 🔹The demand comes as the U.S. has allowed Israel to continue the daily killing of Palestinians in Gaza for more than seven months since the October 2025 Trump-brokered ceasefire, with over 900 Palestinians killed since the agreement was approved by Israel. The U.S. and Israel are also deliberately blocking minimum levels of food, medicine, shelter, fuel, and reconstruction aid. 🔹President Trump has also removed sanctions on the most violent Israeli settlers in the occupied West Bank, where rampant state-backed settler violence to uproot Palestinian families has gone unchecked since the start of his second term. 🔹Trump closed his social media post with a warning: “It will only be a Great Deal for all or, no Deal at all — Back to the Battlefront and shooting, but bigger and stronger than ever before.”

Trump is dreaming of he thinks Saudi Arabia or Pakistan or Qatar or Kuwait will even consider joining The Abraham Accords without a permanent solution to the Palestinian issue. This demand of joining The Abraham Accords is a MONKEY WRENCH thrown into the whole process by Netanyahu. This is a typical Netanyahu trick. It ain’t going to work.

WHEN ROME DREW THE LINE: EXPULSION OF 139 BCE In 139 BCE, a senior Roman official — the praetor peregrinus Gnaeus Cornelius Scipio Hispanus — issued an order expelling two distinct groups from Rome and the whole of Italy: the Chaldaeans (Babylonian astrologers from Mesopotamia) and the Jewish community. Both were given just ten days to leave. The charges were quite different for each group. The Chaldaeans were accused of fraud — essentially running an astrological con, extracting money from Roman citizens by claiming supernatural ability to read the stars and predict the future. This was less about religion and more about perceived charlatanism and financial exploitation. The Jews faced a more ideologically charged accusation: active proselytism — attempting to convert Roman citizens to their monotheistic faith. Roman authorities regarded this as a corrupting influence on traditional Roman religion and public morals. This distinction is important. Rome was generally tolerant of foreign religions, provided they remained private and contained within their own ethnic communities. What triggered official anxiety was the crossing of boundaries — the attempt to draw Romans themselves into an alien religious system. The historical sources are complicated. The knowledge of this event comes primarily through the work of Valerius Maximus, but crucially, his original text no longer survives. What we have are two later summaries — one by Julius Paris and another by Januarius Nepotianus — and they do not always agree. Julius Paris, notably, described the Jews as worshippers of a god called "Jupiter Sabazius," a statement that has puzzled scholars ever since. Sabazius was a deity of Phrygian and Thracian origin, frequently associated with both Zeus and Dionysos — an entirely different religious tradition. Several explanations have been proposed: that three separate groups were actually expelled rather than two; that the author confused the Jewish Sabbath with the name Sabazius; or that there was genuine religious syncretism occurring in Rome at the time, with Jewish and other Eastern religious practices blending in the popular imagination. The broader context matters enormously. By the time of this expulsion, Jews had already been present in Rome for some time. A formal Jewish diplomatic delegation had arrived in Rome as early as 160 BCE, negotiating a treaty of friendship between the Roman Republic and the Maccabees of Judea — a relationship renewed at least twice during the 140s BCE. Some of those envoys may have remained in Rome as permanent ambassadors, and the treaty itself likely encouraged further Jewish migration to Italy. In 142 BCE, the Maccabees received a cordial letter from a Roman consul, suggesting relations were broadly warm at the diplomatic level. This makes the expulsion of 139 BCE all the more striking. It reveals a tension that would run throughout Roman-Jewish relations for centuries: Rome could respect Jewish political sovereignty and maintain friendly diplomatic ties with Judea abroad, while simultaneously viewing the domestic presence of Jewish religious practice — particularly its missionary dimension — as a destabilizing threat to social cohesion and the integrity of Roman state religion. It was not simply hostility toward Jews as a people, but anxiety about the perceived incompatibility of exclusive monotheism with the pluralistic but civic-minded religious culture of Rome. The earliest surviving historical account of the Jewish people in Europe is made by Marcus Tulius Cicero in 56 BCE: "There follows the odium that is attached to Jewish gold. There is no doubt the reason why this case is being tried not far from the Aurelian steps. You procured this place and that crowd Laelius for this trial. You know what a big crowd it is, how they stick together, how influential they are in informal assemblies. So I will speak in a low voice so that only the jurors may hear me. For those are not wanting who would incite them against me and against every respectable man. I shall not help them to do this more easily. When every year it was customary to send gold to Jerusalem on the order of the Jews from Italy and from all of our provinces, Flaccus is forbade by an edict its exportation from Asia. Who is there gentlemen who could not honestly praise this action? The Senate often earlier and also in my consulship most urgently forbade the export of gold. But to resist this barbaric superstition was an act of firmness. To defy the crowd of Jews when sometimes in our assemblies they were hot with passion for the welfare of the state was an act of the greatest seriousness." Now this commentary by Cicero tells us many important things. By 56 BCE, the Jewish community in Italy and in Rome specifically was large enough that it was having a notable impact on the politics and economy of the empire. The issue at hand was that Flaccus, the governor of Asia, was being accused of misappropriation of the gold that the Jewish community was trying to send to the temple in Jerusalem. Cicero defends the decision, basically saying that Flaccus was trying to prevent what would now be called capital flight. Gold was sent back to Jerusalem to help support the temple. Apparently, the amounts were large enough that it actually concerned the political elite. Cicero mentions the Aurelian steps because they were said to be a gathering place for the Jewish community in Rome, not far from the temple of Castor and Pollux. But he's also aware that the name Aurelian means golden. He accuses Laelius, the tribune of the plebs, who is acting as a lead prosecutor, of intentionally influencing the trial through Jewish community mobilization. The crowds are insinuated by Cicero to be primarily Jewish. However, his dislike for the Jewish community is equaled by his dislike for the Greeks, expressed clearly when he says, "Still this I can say of the whole race of the Greeks. I grant them literature. I grant them a knowledge of many arts. I do not deny the charm of their speech, the keenness of their intellects, the richness of their diction. Finally, if they make any other claim, I do not deny it. But truth and honor, in giving testimony, that nation has never cherished. The meaning, the importance, the value of this whole matter, they know not. Whence comes a saying, testify for me and I'll testify for you. It isn't thought to be Gallic, is it? Or Spanish. It is so entirely Greek that even those who do not understand Greek know the Greek words for this expression." Cicero tried to argue the case that the Greeks and Jews were conspiring together to undermine proper Roman rule. Image: Marcus Tullius Cicero

@MirMAKOfficial Trump unilaterally dumped JCPOA. Any agreement with the Trump admin or the US is highly likely going to end in the trash can If the US agrees to an agreement now, it might look good for the polls in Novemeber, but what will happen after that.

All MoUs aside between Trump and Iran, if you ask my personal opinion, I DO NOT trust Trump as far as I can throw him. Until an agreement is reached in full, Trump can attack Iran within a second. Trump is not a trustable person at all. So the best approach is to wait and watch.
