My final engagement before leaving Capetown for Johannesburg yesterday, I had the privilege of meeting two distinguished former leaders, President Ian Khama of Botswana and President Thabo Mbeki of South Africa, before departing Cape Town for Johannesburg yesterday. This meeting was an opportunity for me to express my heartfelt appreciation for their positive comments on the recent immigration issues in the region and their continued advocacy for peace and unity among African nations. Both Mr Khama and Mr Mbeki continue to hold significant respect across the continent due to their remarkable contributions, both during and after their presidencies. During my audience with Mr Mbeki, I also reconnected with my good friend, former Ekiti State Governor Dr Kayode Fayemi, who delivered a keynote address at the Thabo Mbeki Africa Day lecture, focusing on the themes of rebuilding unity and revitalising institutions throughout the continent. This event was organised by the Thabo Mbeki Foundation. -PO

Today I paid a strategic and impactful visit to Abaji, Kwali and Gwagwalada Area Councils to meet with party leaders, stakeholders, youth representatives, women groups, and dedicated members of the party as well as traditional leaders in preparation for the forthcoming primary elections. The visit was aimed at engaging directly with the leadership and grassroots supporters of the party while formally soliciting for their support and votes ahead of the party primaries. The event witnessed a large turnout of enthusiastic party faithful who gathered to warmly receive me and reaffirm their confidence in my leadership capacity and long-standing commitment to the service of the people. I appreciated the people of Abaji Kwali and Gwagwalada Area Council for their continued support, loyalty, and belief in a people-oriented leadership. I emphasized on the need for unity, transparency, accountability, and active participation in building a better future for the Federal Capital Territory and Nigeria as a whole. The gathering was filled with excitement and solidarity as party leaders and stakeholders openly declared their unwavering support for my candidacy. The event concluded with goodwill messages, strategic discussions, and renewed commitments by party members to work collectively toward the success of the party in the upcoming elections.

Yesterday, May 19th, in Abuja, I attended the Presidential screening organised by our party, which took over two and a half hours. They carefully reviewed all my documents, including my degree certificates, NYSC credentials, and age declarations. During the process, I also addressed questions regarding my vision for a new Nigeria and the type of leadership our nation urgently needs right now. Following this, I was cleared and received the presidential nomination form I had previously paid for. I would like to commend the screening committee, led by former governor Sam Egwu, for their thorough and professional approach. Additionally, I appreciate our party's leadership for upholding the democratic process. A New Nigeria is POssible. - PO

Why do you always avoid primary elections? Throughout your political career, you have constantly stayed away from the very foundation of democracy, yet you keep preaching about democracy. Don’t you think that makes you look hypocritical? I honestly pray you never become President of Nigeria, because from what I have seen, I truly don’t know what to call you anymore.

The more Peter Obi speaks, the more his chances of becoming president continue to fade away in the eyes of many Nigerians. His team needs to stop him from giving out interviews for his own good because he’s always sounding like an illiterate.

There is no Nigerian politician, dead or alive, as desperate as Peter Obi. His desperation has exposed the level of his inconsistencies. Imagine a man who has never even occupied the office of Vice President already negotiating for a one-term presidency. This is the same person who once swore publicly that if he ever left APGA, let his family perish, those were his exact words. Today, look at where he is: moving from one political platform to another and making another round of empty promises. A man who cannot keep his own political vows now wants Nigerians to trust him with national promises. Too bad.

1. Goodluck Jonathan is more competent than Peter Obi. 2. Goodluck Jonathan enjoys global recognition and respect. 3. Goodluck Jonathan is also a Southerner. 4. Goodluck Jonathan is also a Christian. 5. Peter Obi should step aside to support Goodluck Jonathan. 6. No rational person would choose Peter Obi over Goodluck Jonathan. 7. Atiku will still emerge victorious in 2027.

The next couple of days will define the future of this nation. This deeper understanding is why I resigned from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to join the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) as I follow the leadership of, HE Peter Obi, who today embodies the hope and aspiration of a Nigeria that works.     When I give my word, I keep it. My decision to support HE Peter Obi first led me to the ADC. To continue to honour the promise I am joining the NDC.   This time I am joining the NDC not just as a member but as one running for the FCT Senatorial seat.   I have tidied up all my obligations to the ADC, ensuring a clean transition. I was fortunate to work with great and amazing people whose goal was a better country. I am grateful for the opportunity to have served as sub‑committee chair, deputy committee chair, and secretary at various levels.   The experience has been invaluable, and I thank everyone for their support and cooperation.     #NewBeginnings #NDC #PeterObi2027 #FCTSenate #BetterAbuja #NewNigeria #ServiceFirst   Yours In Service Aisha Yesufu

@thekanoblog @KwankwasoRM You have just shown that you not only have a small brain but your brain is also not functioning properly. So it now about the size of the state?. Kwankwaso is smarter than you and the one you are working for. For Kwankwaso it is not about 2027 but about 2031. Mumu.

Everything you said, we will only see it as what Hausawa call ‘ihu bayan hari ". But in reality, Rabiu Kwankwaso, you have embarrassed the people of Kano, and if you agree to become the running mate to Peter Obi in any party, I think that would be the greatest injustice you could do to your supporters in Kano and Northern Nigeria. How can someone who governed a state like Kano now become the deputy to someone who governed a smaller state like Anambra? Therefore, as Kano people, we appeal to Rabiu Kwankwaso to support Atiku Abubakar as the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress.

Clarification on My Political Position We have noted recent media reports and discussions suggesting a possible realignment within the African Democratic Congress (ADC) due to the current challenges facing the party. In light of the misleading narratives in the public domain, I wish to state categorically that no final decision has been taken regarding my political future or that of my political associates. The recent Supreme Court judgment, while affirming the legitimacy of the David Mark-led National Working Committee (NWC), also remitted the matter back to the High Court. This has left the party in a precarious position. In addition, the Federal High Court has recently ruled to delegitimise the party’s recent convention. The Attorney General of the Federation has also strangely applied to a Federal High Court to deregister the ADC. We left the NNPP due to externally influenced legal problems that made our stay perilous. The ADC has now been also forced into this difficulty. Consequently, like other major stakeholders, we have commenced wide-ranging consultations — including with leaders from the NDC, PRP and others to explore the best options for protecting our democratic interests. We shall announce our decision in the soonest possible time. On the issue of presidential candidacy, I wish to recall my consistent record as a committed democrat. In the 2014 APC presidential primary, I came second to President Muhammadu Buhari (whom I fully supported to victory), with Atiku Abubakar third, Rochas Okorocha fourth, and the late Sam Nda-Isaiah fifth. Similarly, in 2019, I contested the PDP presidential ticket and immediately supported the winner, His Excellency Atiku Abubakar, serving as the campaign’s coordinator in the North. I have always placed national interest and party unity above personal ambition. Furthermore, the ADC is yet to zone its presidential ticket or take any decision on a candidate. I have therefore neither declared any intention to run for president nor endorsed any aspirant. All speculations to the contrary are premature and unfounded. My absence from the two recent ADC stakeholders’ meetings was due to unavoidable personal commitments. I promptly communicated my apologies to the party leadership. We shall continue to engage constructively at all levels. Any definitive position on our political direction will be communicated formally through official channels at the appropriate time. Sen. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, PhD, FNSE Former Governor, Kano State Former Minster of Defence

If Peter Obi Jeopardize the interest of the Igbos by leaving the ADC, the entire South East will cancel him and make sure his political career takes the same route like Rochas Okorocha.. We'll rally round Hope Uzodinma or Alex Otti for the interest of Ndi-Igbo at national level.

HE @PeterObi never you think of leaving ADC, it’ll be a political disaster to your political career and I will personally campaign against any party you want to commit the political blunder with. You must remain in ADC and contest the primary election if you want Nigerians to take you serious. Leaving ADC will simply mean what people are saying about you is true which is that you always run away from party primaries. Hmmm 🤔 I don’t care 🤷‍♂️ what people will say or attack me because of this tweet but I will never stop saying that bitter truth. #ADCorNOTHING

@WisdomIyede @ADCVanguard_ We can only confirm that he is a criminal. He will not win, he'd didn't win in 2023, he stole it and may steal it again in 2027. Being a criminal doesn't mean that you are smarter than everyone else, it is just that whereas you are ready to commit crime others are not ready to.

Three things will happen if Tinubu is re-elected in 2027; 1. Atiku retires as a Former VP, Number 2 man in the country who has worked in Aso Rock. 2. Obi retires as a Former Governor 3. Obidient movement fades completely, dissipates like smoke & goes in perpetual oblivion ✅️
