On the one hand, I think the pander-casting is corny and insulting to both the audience and the replacement race cast in the parts—who aren't given their own original material, but left begging for scraps of established works, knowing that no one but the most angry liberal arts majors will appreciate the trolling. On the other hand, I think Nolan's Odyssey might still be good, in spite of it. (Even though it will obviously be worse because of it.)
The most offended, of course, should be the Greeks. He didn't cast a single main character with a speaking role from the country it's from. If that's not a big F-you to their culture, I don't know what is.
