The Talas aqueduct bridge was perhaps significantly rebuilt in the 6th century. It belonged to the aqueduct system probably begun by Valens and expanded in the 5th century. It belonged to the longest known aqueduct channels and the most complex system of urban water collection in the ancient world. Talas, now located on the edge of Istanbul Province, was around 60 km outside the walls of Constantinople. Photos from yesterday's visit

Molla Gürani Mosque aka Vefa Church Mosque It's a former Eaastern Roman church which has a cross-in-square plan. Its outer narthex has some Palaiologan era mosaics. One of them has the Virgin Mary with the Christ Child surrounded with 8 prophets mentioned in the Old Testament.
