@NederlanderUK My transaction failed so I started again - and now find I have bought 4 tickets for tomorrow night when I only wanted (& can afford!) 2. Can’t talk to anyone as phone redirects to email. Help please!

@ch_teaches @FunkyPedagogy @Xris32 @SPryke2 We’ve been reading academic writing eg @EngMediaCentre emag, looking at how much can be contained within eg an introduction, then emulating it with our own content, which we’ve written in simple sentences first. We’ve had to revisit basic sentence structure 1/

Have you ever seen a sky like it? With absolutely no filter! 🔥🌅🔥 Argyll is no stranger to a red sky, but the scenes from our garden yesterday was something else - the horizon was on fire. #scotland #scotlandsunset #sunset

I’ve just received a parcel from a lady who works as a volunteer at a charity shop. She rescued a small stack of Ladybirds that couldn’t be sold because “not mint condition”. Most will go to her grandkids, but in a random act of kindness, she has sent me these 💕

We are devastated to say that our beautiful Isabelle died in the early hours of this morning. We are absolutely broken. However, we want you all not to think of her death, but to honour her by living life as she did: fearlessly, joyously & spontaneously.

Thought I might go and see the Scottish play with David Tennant and Cush Jumbo. Seats ‘from £250’. That’s a no then

I’m just a bit depressed about how everyone seems to be just trying to get as much as they can for themselves

@The_Fence_Mag Destination (according to Greek literature) hell. 2hrs in back of truck with lecherous dog; no running water; no fridge; scorpions; bits of roof that fell on me in the night; 6 mile round trip to only restaurant (the other tourists had the hire car); sea full of jellyfish 😬

The sun is high and it feels like everyone but you is on holiday. To dampen their enjoyment, and make those of us sweating at home feel better, we're asking for tales of your most hated holidays. Your vilest vacations. Your hotels and hostelries most horrid. Give us your worst.

Hello Twitter, your good energy for the peaceful passing of my best friend's family member would be hugely appropriated today; he is being taken off life support. I am sending all my spare energy back out to those who need it most ❤️

@8Dawntreader8 @YoungWritersCW Agreed. I was lucky enough to study meter in Greek as well as English and appreciate lots don’t. Was critical (sorry) because rhythm/meter is where the joy is for me and this sort of misunderstanding leads to terrible poetry imo!

@thekatywalker @YoungWritersCW @YoungWritersCW, I hope my comments came across as helpful and constructive rather than patronising and critical! Very few people understand meter as well as they think (including many academics and poets), which is not surprising given how long it fell out of fashion!

@alzheimerssoc This is the sort of reductive, ignorant, careless view you might expect of someone with no knowledge of dementia so for it to come from @alzheimerssoc is astonishing. What a poor take (not to mention the sexism!!).

If English teachers spoke honestly about markload, I reckon no-one would apply to teach the subject ever again.

I’m sure the intention is good, but a barrage of emails warning you about the upcoming barrage of emails about #MothersDay and offering opt-out feels way worse than saying nothing and letting us quietly get on with it..
