“Dunesday” is absolutely not even close to being the same as Barbenheimer. That was counterprogramming. Barbie and Oppenheimer were targeting totally different audiences. Avengers: Doomsday and Dune: Part Three are fighting for the same audience, and no matter what, both movies’ box office will be smaller. Doomsday will obviously beat Dune, but it won’t make as much as it could without Dune releasing on the same day. It also doesn’t have IMAX screens.

My Crimson Desert Review (W.I.P.) TLDW: Crimson Desert is a game that fundamentally changes our perception of what is possible in the medium. Its open-world, exploration, and sheer scale all offer something that almost no other game has even attempted. It's NOT perfect: there are bugs, occasional quality dips, and its scope can sometimes leave ideas on the table for too long, but overall I'm thoroughly impressed. After 60+ hours I'm loving it. I think it will probably take me 120+ to roll credits and likely 300+ for a completionist run; even so, I cannot wait to see what else the game has tucked away for me to find and I'm actively playing it even while writing this pinned comment. The obvious flip side here is that many gamers do want photorealism sometimes. If you want to play Cyberpunk with a photorealism 1200 mod pack, go nuts. If you want to use a feature like what DLSS 5 is offering, go nuts. If you prefer less realistic animations, go nuts.
