@TXGiants518 It was The Tavern but I spent a lot of time at the branch & post as well

@jtstandup If DC knew how to make a movie, they'd cast me...
English

@mattlodder The NYC casting company for wick 2 & 3 used a number of facially tattooed people for extras/small roles - I recognized a couple of people from their work at Ripley's NYC & around Coney
English

@Dirt_God Swing by the Ripley's, should be a statue of me out front in the lobby
English

@broken6 @DickZigun There is almost never a case of all good or all bad & I think Fakir comes out very much on the good side overall but it doesn't seem quite right to give him an honor from an art form/industry he regularly denigrated & dismissed. & To be fair he mellowed out on this later in life
English

@thelizardman23 @DickZigun Do you think there is (maybe) a reason to distance the man himself from the impact he had on the industry? I'm always conflicted when the significance of a person's contribution is marred by the person themselves.

Hey @thelizardman23 can you show up and drink a few beers and say that in person?

@DickZigun Fakir was harshly critical of performers who didn't buy into his spiritual framework & attacked modern suspension performers looking to expand the art form. Historically significant absolutely, deserving of this honor - no fucking way.
English

@jtstandup Ferrets also worked on hadron & ran wiring for Boeing & NASA in the past. US Dept of Agriculture historically offered a program for pest control on farms using ferrets as well. Cute & functional!

Atlas Obscura@atlasobscura
In 1971, physicists in Illinois, began testing a 200-billion-electron-volt proton synchrotron particle accelerator, but the magnets that were essential to its operation kept failing. The low-tech solution for this high-tech trouble? A ferret named Felicia. trib.al/kuvMk4y

@mattlodder An update would be good as a lot of the early stuff has been better documented/discovered/discussed since - I was off on some stuff for a long time myself. Also, being basically at the center of it tends to make me nitpick.
English

@mattlodder I'm just waking up & skimming but more & more silly mistakes are jumping out...
English

@mattlodder Seems to be a bit off on some basic points, for instance the 'usual' use of argon laser in oral surgery but not the worst I've seen
English

@milnej04 I've kept rough green snakes & used them in my live shows in the past but I don't like subjecting them to travel so now I borrow local ones if needed (I almost never do that act anymore though)
English

@thelizardman23 @milnej04 have you had pet lizards in the past? I'm a cat man ferrets are cool though
