It's interesting the views on Andrew Brace from last night. As a Bath fan in the first half, he missed forward passes, high tackles, and numerous others, and the Assistant Ref watched the screen more than the game. Second half again ropey for both sides but 2 big calls will...

@TheBathExile @BathBytes Yes, the ref and other match officials quite rightly should be scrutinised and their decisions reviewed post match, but we all need to remember they are on top of the action and making decisions based on the laws of the game in a split second.

@TheBathExile @BathBytes In my view, as a ref, over the course of 80 minutes the ref will make decisions that frustrates both teams and their fans. Usually, as it did last night, it balances out over those 80 minutes so for fans to blame the ref for their team losing is totally wrong.

@Rawdogg15 @kingshiny13 Agreed… 30 players, 2 assistant refs and a TMO… to blame one person, who has a split second watching live is poor. I’m a Bath STH but also a ref, I watch matches through the lens of a ref, & can tell you categorically over the 80 minutes decisions against teams balances out.

@kingshiny13 It now seems inevitable that any (big) match, particularly a close one will result in the majority of rugby socials forensically analysing the referee or even just one of his decisions, forgetting there are also 30 players who actually played the game.

Holy Shit… after the 1st half performance how have Bath won that… cracking shifts from Guy Pepper, Barbs, Ted Hill. Lineout still needs work but was better when KT came on. Wow. Commiserations to Saints… no one deserved to lose that!

Saints get their 4th from their own half, again a few could have been checked but try given 7-28

Finn Russell that’s three times you’ve tried to kick through, it’s charged down and ends up with Saints either scoring in a few phases or running most of the length of the pitch… calm down!!!

@tomdabs I'll never dispute that he is a very talented player......but!! Anything about England or Saints will have a picture of him (even if he's played 5 mins). TNT coverage looks to source him in commentary and mention him, the overkill is frustrating people and this will make it worse

@BathBytes Bit shaky at times, especially first half when Sale forwards were in the ascendancy. Two yellows, lots of poor discipline and missed kicks hampered us in the 1st half!
